It is a loooong way till Season 3 and again jump to 5th place maybe.

A BR could do it. But then they would have to support two sandboxes. Effectively different games.

If the BR takes off Creative Assenbly may take over the reigns and we’ll see 343 regulated to making battle pass cosmetic content.

Expect Naraka to trend upwards btw. That’s the one to watch right now.

I think it will be like SoT. Get content updates every now and then and advertised at their shows. They will try and do the same for Grounded.

Funny how they are all becoming similar update / live service games with lower quality....like all the critics of GP said games would go that way long before this.

That's what works for MSFT though, games like SOT.

Forza Horizon DLC is not included with gamespass. Will infinite campaign content be also?

You would have to think any campaign content would be paid and only vanilla game being part of gamepass just like Forza.

So at that point the concern becomes if it actually makes any kind of revenue because I have serious doubts that their current battlepass model and player base is doing what it needs to.

And yea it does matter if it makes money. You want more of it don’t you?

To be frank (no relation to o'connor) I don't think campaign was a priority in their long term plan. They wanted a live service game with mtx money to support for years. BF2042 completely dropped campaign too. Halo Infinite multiplayer was F2P. Actual sales of Halo Infinite were abysmal which goes to show how many were interested in paying for the campaign.

If it does release sooner it will probably be paid DLC even on gamepass. You don't spend lots of money on something that can be completed in 8hrs on gamepass subs unless you're trying to flog it off as the major release for the year.

For what was given, heavily disappointed... However I enjoyed the game play.
But it should never have released like this, and 6 months between seasons... I agree with the scrapping of the 10 year plan.

Yea it’s not good when MCC is neck and neck with Infinite on Steam where MCC is a paid release and Infinite is free.

This is telling me they’re seeing more potential with MCC. In addition to … players preferring the true Bungie Halo games and not this cover band garbage.

Someone made an article saying the 3 biggest mistakes of Xbox. It’s clear that losing Bungie was their biggest mistake.

Say what you want but the fact remains… Bungie is the reason Xbox exists as a brand to begin with.

Let's be honest here... Halo name itself didn't hold players because when Bungie left you can today estimate over half of the userbase left together and never back.

Halo 4 was in decline.
Halo 5 was in decline.
Halo Infinite is in decline.

And yes I believe it is i343 fault... old Halo fans hates i343 to what they did with the franchise.
While that these same old Halo fans found peace with Bungie and Destiny.
Destiny has a lot of issue but it is more a Halo than Halo is today... if you add Mater Thief to Destiny nobody will say it is not Halo

Seems like an absolutely inept studio from Bonnie Ross at the top, all the way down.

Buck stops with Phil though, and Matt Booty. How they could let this happen is baffling. Their top IP, and you can clearly see they invest nothing into the project.

If anyone thinks any other MS studios game is safe, or is being managed or budgeted properly, you're mistaken.

Seems like the plan is just to lean on Bethesda moving forward, because Halo and Gears are both gutter level IP right now. Hate to say it.

gears 5 was a trainwreck, and they pretty much took the story to a dead end, atleast for Marcus and his son. the game sold terribly as well, and Rod Fergusson departed the studio immediately after it's catastrophic release. not a good sign at all, he sank the IP and they managed to force him out, 100%.

the damage coalition has done to gears is insane.

Mismanaged IP.

-Bro shooter about buff space football players, they deem it toxic masculinity and put a woke female lead no one likes.
-Entire new cast of characters is hated by the previous fanbase + none are popular or can carry an IP themselves
-Story is at a dead end
-Brand identity is gone. used to be gritty, manly, with metallica-inspired death metal blood and gore, balls to the wall space marine bro action. Now? A game for teenage girls maybe? (LOL KAIT DIAZ LOL)
