So while we have player counts for Halo Infinite, We never got any sales figure as far as I am concerned but. If you were an early 00s Kid like me and were a N64 and GameCube fan. You might of gotten your hands on a game like Metroid Prime which at the time was mind blowing. However while there was a big war against the Metroid Prime and Halo series like we see with something like: Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
The fact that both came out about a year apart, and were high rated console exclusives, and first person games I do remember there being comparisons about which game was better.

That being said When it comes to Metroid Prime 1-3 vs Halo 1-3 the sales are clear.
Halo easily outsold Metroid Prime easily.
Despite Metroid Prime being the best selling Metroid Game ever at 2.84 Million units sold until Metroid Dread finally crossed the 3 Million sales mark in late 2022.
Halo clearly destroyed those numbers and same with Metroid Prime 2 vs Halo 2, and Metroid prime 3 vs Halo 3 which the sequels would release on the same years as well.
Now with Halo having a huge identity crisis for about a decade now with Halo 5 Guardians being a huge decline for the series ands Halo Master Chief Collection botching the online multiplayer. Halo Infinite doesn't seem to have sold too well but I can't find any concrete numbers on it.
Finally know that Xbox is in the poop bin and Switch has given new life to so many Nintendo Franchises:
Mario Kart 8 Over 50 Million Sold
Animal Crossing: New Horizon's Over 40 Million Sold
The Legend of Zelda: BOTW: over 30 Million Sold without including the 1 million sold on Wii U
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Outselling every fighting game ever made
Super Mario Odyssey outselling every 3D Mario Game
Super Mario Party outselling every other Mario Party Game
Metroid Dread outselling every Metroid Game
Will Metroid Prime 4 finally be the Metroid Prime game to outsell a Halo Game?
I probably don't think so and think this game does 6 Million at best but would love to see it do 10 Million which should be more than Halo Infinite in sales but not player count.
Also while I am 2 days late, Happy 20 year Anniversary Halo 2 which turned 20 on November 9th, 2024. Also today is the 10 year Anniversary of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
