It was always Microsoft gaming, it just wore a different mask for a while. Even back when the first xbox was created it wasn't because microsoft wanted to make games, it was because they were afraid that Sony's success would threaten Windows. Microsoft never cared about consoles.
I wonder if more people will wake up and realize Phil was never the "savior" of Xbox. He's spent years running it into the ground and now even formerly unrelated developers (eg. Tango) have suffered from the ongoing decline.
Xbox has been dead long before Spencer took over. Spencer just put a tourniquet on the bleeding and thats why many see him as the savior.
The company literally was shopping around trying to sell Halo towards the end of the 360 generation. The shareholders didn't understand why they were still supporting this money lost called "xbox".

They tried selling the whole department to Samsung and EA.
Xbox died when they went the Kinect route, rather than funnelling that money into a pointless fad
We must never forget the Atrocities of the past or we will be failed to repeat them once again in the future.
