Which pays for an entire AAA game wtf
If you think sales from 6 of your biggest games combined barely scrounging up enough revenue to make 1 game is a good thing, you're seriously not thinking straight. And again it's not even 250m profit, just revenue, before 30% steam cut and a good amount of that is from Destiny which they wasted 3.6billion to acquire which puts them in the red for a long time. But you will probably just ignore these facts as you guys tend to do.

6 games that lost all sales potential years ago, yeah.

Playstation made an extra 250M dollars from PC games moron. I’m sorry that Sony isn’t keeping your beloved games exclusive to your favorite plastic box, and you don’t get to brag that those games are exclusive to your favorite plastic box. But Sony is a business.
They recoup their costs from the games sales and then some....GOW Ragnarok cost ~200m to make, and made ~700m revenue in less than 3 months. Meanwhile on PC, 6 ports combined were only able to produce 250m in revenue (not even profit, they give Valve a 30% cut). That barely covers the development cost of 1 game lmao.

The 250 was with Destiny. The actual PC ports were like 50 millions. They could do more by selling 1 million on PS5.

The 200 millions should be deducted from Bungie purchase price, not the cost of the porting job. In the end they barely made anything with the PC ports.

And now they lose millions of potential console owners, ps plus subscribers, and psn store game sales, all for the sake of a 1% revenue gain 🤷‍♂️ Literally cutting the nose to spite the face, but if that's the hill you want to die on then be my guest.

I knew Destiny 2 was a good chunk, just wasn't sure how much. Still the worst acquisition in history, Sony got fleeced. Maybe they bought them just to help cover up the pitiful PC numbers? 😂

What are you talking about the game already made money, this is a port.
6 ports, each cost 50M, 300M. you get 250M. means you are fucked by 50M.

of course, ports isn't costing that, but you have to take into account, that they spend 1 year or 2 years which could lead to create new games, so it is not just about direct cost and revenue, there also indirect cost, negative etc..

for example, they could have been porting PS3, PS2 games and remastering them at the same revenue stream, different is that you actually satisfying your community and making your platform even more attractive.

yeah these people don't take opportunity cost into account, the time and money they wasted on PC could've been dedicated towards the console and yielded significantly greater gains.

The forum is badly in need of a "ignore thread" function.
This hyperbole is boring and got old fast.

Why the FUCK would they include an HDD-able mode? Sony is fucking CLUELESS on their pc porting strategy.

you have no clue how the game is going to run with a HDD. if it's fine at 720p, what's the problem?
The point is that you are fucking undermining your main fucking platform. Now anyone who ever hears "only possible because of the SSD" will snicker and continue on to play a busted ass game on PC instead of actually giving your main source of revenue - the console - a chance. And then they'll conclude the game runs like dogshit so your games are overrated anyway. Also NO ONE FUCKING PLAYS IN 720P on HDD, steamdeck has an SSD anyway
