the source material just isn't strong enough when it comes to halo. It was never going to be anything other than a B-level sci fi shlockfest.

The show had less than zero impact on anyone’s interest in the tired, cliched Halo property due to the decade of shitty games and broken remasters it had gone through before the show even came out.

The Halo TV show (I stopped about 3 episodes in) looked like if you told someone the plot of the Mandalorian to someone who never saw it and they tried to change Mandalorian to John Halo and submit the script as their work.
Bungie wouldn't have allowed that and 343 allowed an utter melon to oversee such a shit adaptation

Let's not forget that Bungie approached Microsoft with a Sci-Fi MMO set in the Halo Universe. When MS said no, Bungie left and made a little game called Destiny.

That is one that ALMOST makes sense, when you consider that Halo Wars was a flop because the Halo audience are too dumb for RTS gameplay. MS just wanted more straightforward, original recipe Halo and not anything more complex, and Bungie was the Halo studio.
Of course, where MS was really stupid was in chaining Bungie to the Halo IP and refusing to let them do anything else, forcing them to buy their freedom and leave Xbox to rot.
