Rockstar are very pro left. it has been Christian alt right puritans trying to cancel GTA and Rockstar games in general over the years and it will be again. It's set in Florida, they are going to take right wing mocking to the extreme

I'm not young. I was there day 1 with GTA 1. I remember Jack whatshisface trying to ban GTA and mortal combat and the hot coffee mod getting stick for showing tiddies or whatever.
This is different. It isn't the catholic church trying to ban Holy Grail, or some bible basher saying violent video games cause school shooters.
This is the market following a group of people who see GTA-style humour as kryptonite. That group dictates the industry.
I'm just going to say this without going into further detail - this is absolutely incorrect, and I know it for a fact.
Edit: to clarify - I don't know if the game was being developed for last gen consoles, but I highly doubt it considering the project timeline. What I do know is that the leak was not a testing ground.

I was referring to Lifetime sales? GTA 6 will sell for years unless something goes seriously wrong. It won't have the luxury of 3 different generation of sales, so many will quick to say it underperformed but it's also the only game I can see, finally mass migrating the remaining 50+ million dedicated PS4 players.
As for GTA being toned down, it won't really be. They will definitely be doing a meta commentary on modern society, is anyone safe? I don't think so, they can teether the line and get away with it.
Outrage and Mass Boycotts will never work for a game like this, so good luck to anyone who tries.
