Bullshit liar caught in 4k with your ass hanging out 🤡

A Capcom ID is mandatory to play online in SF6. Where was the outrage? Keep that same energy.

Seems like it did it automatically for me somehow, never wrote in any login info into the game.
It is mandatory you just didn't care because it's not a Sony game. Tell it like it is instead of all this manufactured outrage. This is the only reason why Helldivers is an issue for you and all the other brainlets.

It was mandatory even to play the demo of Exoprimal. We all did our Capcom ID even on consoles.

Most people here are PlayStation fans yes, but don't worry on sharing your other console preferences,

By what i've seen, most people are on the side of PC players:

In another note, if this rule was enforced since day one this whole debacle wouldn't have happend.

The rule was enforced it was just temporarily taken away so players can pass the servers easier. Arrowhead made statement that it was temporarily & would be mandatory in the future (after all the servers & launch road bumps where fix) which is why there making it mandatory again rn. Mind you the same people complaining are the same people at launch who where telling Arrowhead to drop the PSN requirement at launch so people can have a better chance to get into the game at launch & add the mandatory requirement later when things stabilize.

It’s people fault who thought it would remain optional completely disregarding Arrowhead statement & it’s also people fault for not looking at steam page, countless trailer & arrowhead statement that said prior to release HD2 will have a PSN requirement.

You need to stop insulting people and being toxic.

People, de-escalate on insults. And argue in good faith before crying foul as well.

We are watching all of you.

Deep Rock Galactic, Battlebit, Street Fighter 6, most don't. It's mostly f2p games that does.
I’m sure you had to create a Capcom ID to play SF6.

Seems like it did it automatically for me somehow, never wrote in any login info into the game.
You have to accept the account terms and it clear says it is creating an account for you…

Unless you have a Capcom ID already liked to your PSN (or Steam… well where you are playing it).

Maybe you linked your account in SF5 so it used the same link in SF6 🤷‍♂️

But the point is that it is mandatory to all players.

I've got the game recently on PS5, been playing with pals on PC.

Last night, one of them mentioned that the game would require a PSN account.

"Okay"

"I've already linked mine"

We proceed to play a couple hours of great fun.

This is truly a nothingburger for the massive majority of players.

This is on the official Helldivers discord (look at #3, where they acknowledge a workaround) :

Here are the questions and answers that we have received regarding mandatory account linking so far. We will update this thread with any additional info if we receive it!

**1. What’s the benefit of having a PlayStation Network Account? I don’t have a PlayStation. **
Account linking provides a consistent and reliable means of reporting, moderation, actioning and appeal for ALL Helldivers 2 players. We take online safety seriously and this is our main way to protect players from griefing and abuse: by enabling the banning and suspension of players that engage in that type of behaviour.

By linking accounts, you have the benefit of our extensive support team infrastructure for reporting these bad actors (and our appeals process if you are banned/suspended). This all helps us to make Helldivers 2 a safer and more enjoyable space for everyone.

**2. Why do I need a PlayStation Network account now? I didn’t when the game launched on Steam. **
Due to technical issues at the launch of HELLDIVERS™ 2, account linking was temporarily made optional. Now that the issue has been resolved, this grace period is expiring and we are reinstating the requirement to link accounts.

**3. I am currently in a country or territory that is not PSN-enabled. Can I still sign in and link an account? **
PSN requires users to register in their country or territory of residence. Individuals who are traveling, working, or studying abroad may create an account in a country or territory different from the one in which they are currently located.

**4. When is this happening? And how do I connect my PSN account to my Steam account? **
Current players on Steam:
Current players on Steam will start to see the mandatory login from May 30th and will be required to have linked a Steam and PlayStation Network account by June 4th.
New players on Steam:
You will begin to see the account linking option appear when booting up Helldivers 2 from May 6th.
To connect your accounts follow the prompts on screen.
You will be required to link a Steam and PlayStation Network account from May 6th.

**5. How will my data for account creation be used? Is it safe? **
However you choose to play, we strive to make gaming welcoming, secure, and inclusive for everyone. We’ve created easy-to-use tools to help you take control of who you interact with, how we use your personal information, and how it is displayed and shared.

You can find more information on our privacy and safety features here:
https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/privacy-security-safety/

For more details about how we use your personal information, check the “Information Sharing and Transfers” section of our Privacy Policy: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/legal/privacy-policy/

**6. I already have Helldivers 2 on PS5 and Steam, do I have to make a new account for the Steam version? **
No, you do not need to make a new PlayStation Network account. You can connect your current PlayStation Network account to your Steam account.

**7. If I own Helldivers 2 on PS5 and Steam, will my progress be shared between platforms? **
No, progress on the PS5 and Steam version of Helldivers 2 remains separate at this time.

**8. How do I sign up for a PlayStation Network account? **
You can create an account online via your phone/PC browser before you launch Helldivers 2, or you can create an account online when prompted to upon launching Helldivers 2.

I dunno if bringing up Capcom ID proves too much, other than that games like SF6 do indeed require an account aside your platform's ID to play them.

But I do think the pushback to the PSN stuff for Helldivers 2 is twofold. The first reason is because some of these Steam fanboys complaining view PlayStation as a competitor in a way they simply don't view Capcom, or even Microsoft (since MS own Windows). I saw some pointing this out earlier ITT and it's messed up that PlayStation is treated that way by them but SIE should've seen that coming and, at the end of the day, they're trying to court this audience. So it's their mess to deal with.

The other reason IMO is spillover from the Riot Vanguard disaster. I think some folks upset with that are taking that energy and putting it towards the PSN account requirement stuff. Even if they're being completely irrational, that could very well be the case. SIE might've put this PSN news out hoping the Vanguard controversy would mask it; that didn't work.
