I’ve seen many PC players say don’t buy a PS console or any PS game & they’ll now only get Sony games when they get ported on PC where they can get it in deep discount.
"Deep discount" when it comes to Sony's single player game translates to pirate the game on release and buy it when it's dirt cheap to have it on their Steam library, all while spending plenty on GaaS, hardware and games with Denuvo.

Clearly is an exception, when I tried to refund HZD on launch day just with 2.5 hs, I was denied. And a lot of that time was spent building shaders...
Was able to properly play the game 6 months later.

Clearly Sony has a lot to learn. Growing pains for their first big online game outside of the comfort walled garden. Things are much harder on gamings premier league.

LOL GTFOH "gaming's premier league". You Steam fanboys are in a league of delusion all your own. You make PlayStation and even Xbox fanboys look humble & sane by comparison.

yeah, i do think they'll continue with PC ports but on their own launcher where they actually control the situation and the userbase, this thing with Steam is madness and insanity to say the least

At this point, their PC launcher will be DOA. A lot of those would-be users would come from Steam, and we're seeing how they're handling the news of anything with blatant PlayStation branding on it right now.

They can tolerate the single-player ports because they can just equate those to Sony or SIE; a PSN account is specifically putting PlayStation right in the title. A PlayStation launcher on PC would be doing that even more so. PlayStation doesn't need a PC launcher.

Honestly I appreciate this development. Maybe this will backfire so hard that Sony will drop PC porting. Sony only needs to focus on their console Playstation.
Focus on PS console & seek other methods of growing profits like Nintendo. You can focus on live service on mobile & PS consoles depending if the live service is a shooter then release it on PC, cross media, toys/merch, scoping budget/producing more first party games/smaller games $50 games, EVO/Esports, parks etc literally just follow Nintendo. Double down on PS console & gaming across different genre outside 3rd person action games

there’s a lot of coordinated attacks going on in gaming right now with certain twitter groups im noticing. They are only going to feel more empowered by this especially if sony gives in.

They’re already talking about doing it to ghost of tsushima
These freaks act like valve is run by a bunch of nuns that give all their profits to charity & never collects their data

Good to see so many people shitting on steam, their steamlickers, and the wider PC community. The platform is dying and acts like this just underscore how entitled and arrogant they've always been. They're at the bottom of the gaming barrel and they boast like they're all wearing crowns. Bitch, PS almost makes more in a quarter than Valve in a year.

Can people here admit that Sony is at least partially at fault here? Most of you are no different than rabbid Xbots. Yes, they had a statement from the start that it was required. They should have enforced it from the start, failing that they should have NOT released the game and they should have had betas to judge the interest in the game and the eventual technical difficulties that every multiplayer game has. Instead, they chose to focus on login troubles due to the massive player spike they had at the release and in doing so decided to postpone this requirement, so as to relieve their technical difficulties. This was avoidable, but Sony seems to be incapable to have at least decent PR management. Now they will likely see refund waves from PC players ( not sure how many people from the HD community comes from PC), resulting in financial damage, not just PR damage. They need to get a grip.

Ok then, I'll ask for a refund too if that is how it works. How stupid is Sony?

The irony is that Sony accepts this on Steam but will ban you if you ask for a refund like that on PlayStation.
Sony caused this by bending the knee. PSN should be mandatory to play any PS on PC including singleplayer & multiplayer games. Sony lost focus on its own platform now having a disaster fiasco that could’ve been avoided if they focus on actually releasing multiple first party games on PS console.

Sony deserves this fiasco

You're the one that needs to get a grip if you think this is anything but a big fat nothing burger that the pc master race are crying about

lol, Epic and others would have been so happy if it was simple to make a launcher

Many folks don't have a clue. MICROSOFT of all companies with their infinite pockets tried to push their own store on THEIR OS and it bombed in a spectacular fashion. It's even less popular than EGS!!

Valve spent 2 decades refining their store and became the benchmark of what a gaming marketplace should be. You can't fast track that with money alone.

Sony is in their right to cut the middleman and release their own store on PC. However, they don't have that many games yet and clearly they don't have the expertise. So it's a risky affair for them.

It is definitely overblown and inflated by astroturfers, but going in the opposite extreme and acting like Sony did nothing wrong and that their execution of this is not clumsy at best, idiotic at worst, is not doing anyone any favors, to "real" gamers or Sony.

good luck arguing with governments about the laws which aren't enforced 'in that moment' when you break or ignore those.

if you break the rules or ignore, it is on you. it was clearly stated that you need 3rd party account with this game - PSN. if you ignored that, it is on you, and all the whining and crying is void.

it is entitlement at its peak right here.

What they need is to stop with the pc port crap and focus on ps5
Right. The only game that should release on PC is live service & in most cases all live service should be exclusive to a PS PC launcher. Sony really shouldn’t bend the knee to Steam especially when Steam was in MS acquisition list but seriously PS porting singleplayer games is calling for disaster have Xbox create a PC open hybrid that allows you to play Xbox, Steam & a PS PC launcher just like you can do with Steamdeck.

Sony is the only publisher that started forcing this AFTER they sold the game to people. Let's not turn this forum into an xbox-like circle jerk, where it's always someone else's fault. Sony messed up. They should have delayed the game, staggered the release or included a limited "beta" to avoid the technical difficulties they had implementing that at release.

And again, I don't know why people keep bringing up the "Not only Sony does it" argument. The issue is, that unlike the others, Sony is the only one that did this after they sold the game to people. And while they have a legal leg to stand on by including this in the game's description from the start, they stand on shaky ground when it comes to morality.

It's a horrible way to do things and they possibly killed any momentum the game had. Just pure amateur hour.
You keep repeating this but the disclaimer was always there on Steam so there was no breach of agreement with the customer buying the game? Why are they entitled for refunds 3 months after purchase if absolutely nothing changed? It's not an online game that you pay monthly.

Valve is being stupid and if I was Sony I would delete all my games from there.
