I wonder if the game would have been a sales success had it not been thrown into the massive pool of gamepass AAA titles on day one.

While many will Revel in seeing Microsoft prove many right. I still think it sucks to see studios get bought out just to get closed down. At this point the industry needs less lay off. I hope many can somehow creat new start ups and learn their lessons that remaining independent is always best in most cases.

Half of Zenimax is gone only 3 years after Microsoft acquisition.
I feel sorry for the people who lost their jobs. I think any devs from Japan would think twice getting into bed with MS. Hi-Fi Rush was sent out to die and overperformed in spite of the non promotion. MS will close companies based on their own failures, not the devs. I can't wait to see what the ashes of Tango produces, hopefully also on a Playstation platform.
