I feel like with the time it takes to release games these days, any AAA studio won't get more than 2 chances. If 2 games flop then that studio will be unprofitable for nearly 10 years nowadays. Using someone else's money brings these caveats unfortunately
No chance he would make a blank interview ever. All his interviews are fixed, they just pandering to his ego and reach. If there was a single decent journalist in the game industry, one of them would've already asked Phil Spencer on an interview if he feels ashamed for the poor for he has done over at Xbox for so many years.
I said it many years ago, this due has been far worse than Don Mattrik. Don Mattrick biggest mistake was trusting this lying sack of shit. 99% of the blame for Xbox being what it is today goes to Phil Spencer, it's a shame that the dude was able to make so much money while being so bad at his job.
This guy is just straight up trash
I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Xbox analysts offices. How do they determine financial success and profitability for a game when it actively incentivzes their users not to buy games, and instead play it for "free" on GamePass? Their whole model is just so nonsensical. Hellblade 2 sold about 1 million copies across platforms. Hellblade 2 will reach over 1million MAU at launch for sure, but how many copies will it sell? Hellblade 2 is also going to be a very short game that you can easily complete using a free Gamepass trial. How are they going to determine success for this game? Steam sales? As a PC gamer myself, why would I ever consider buying this game knowing I can just abuse the Gamepass trial?Ninja Theory if Senua Hellblade 2 will flop. But I think it will ultimately, even if they port it to PS.
Has PlayStation and Sony been blamed yet? If not, it’s a matter of time.
What did they say
A public corporation can't use profits from one subsidiary to fill in the losses for another one, its a financial crime and the shareholders will sue them to high heavens. It always has to be a loan from the parent company to the subsidiary. They gambled on investing the profits of microsoft proper to buy publishers to make xbox and gamepass profitable and clearly that gamble failed and now we see the consequencesBut MS has trillions to spend, right? Or wasn’t that the argument Xbots wanted everyone to believe?
Allegedly Rare was also supposed to get closed. No clue why they werent. They still might be get shut down in this fiscal year though, so look out for it.
Seems like Microsoft only released their games from studios they know that they will soon kill, to milk the last bit out of them.
Resetera is on the caseSo, are we there yet?

I want Hellblade to do well. The team behind the game, Ninja Theory, have a massive passion for the projects behind mental health awareness. Even if the game is a loss leader, I love that they are approaching that subject. Which is why I will buy it on PS5. If they never release it on PS5, then I will buy it for PC or Xbox down the road to support the team (not the corporation).I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Xbox analysts offices.
