I see that people are finally starting to agree with me when it comes to Nintendo being the dominant force when in consoles and having a much better approach to selling consoles than Sony does.

Way to completely miss the point. This has nothing to do with game budget, it has to do with Nintendo betting on themselves and on their strengths while Sony for some reasons bets on copying what has already destroyed Xbox.

We get it, you love PlayStation, that doesn't change the fact that the current leadership sucks and is well on their way to kill the brand.

It's not our fault that Sony sucks, they chose that path.
He didn't missed. Why Nintendo released more games than Sony? Guess what, their games surely don't consume such resources as Sony's games. You want more blockbuster games by Sony? Well, maybe they should switch to cute looking games.

Looks like PS2 number will stay intact by NSW
I have my doubts if they could push more two years with that.
The issue is if the sales dropped to a level that even with more two years they can't catch PS2?
It is too risck.

They need to move to Switch sucessor asap... the delay to 2025 is not helping them.

My point is it is an amazing record if you reach there but it is worth to try to push to it forcing a extended life of Switch that will probably more harm the business than help? I don't think so.

They can always give them hefty price cuts but it's not very Nintendo. Why the hell would I buy a switch right now at full price when switch 2 will have BC. Sales should fall from a cliff this year.

Well, they will continue to sell NSW in the next 2 years. We will see.

These are insane numbers, They have never gone on discount too which is even more impressive
Not entirely ture, a few of their heavy hitters (BotW, Odyssey, Switch Sports, etc.) went diwn to 30 dollars last Black Friday. I know because I brought them all sealed and they're already worth more than I paid even if long term hopes of becoming a millionaire off of that stuff is nonexistent.

BC hurting sales is a valid point unless there's a big price descrepency but we know Nintendo and there won't be.

So much cope. If Sony games are profitable there is nothing stopping them from producing more games besides the fact that they don't want to expand.

If Sony games are too expensive to make or take too long that is their problem, a problem Nintendo was smart enough to avoid.

You speak as if Sony could release their own Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Pokemon, etc and are choosing not to do it when in fact Sony simply can't do it and rely on production value to drive demand for their games.

Just accept that Nintendo runs a better gaming business than PlayStation do and stop trying to dismiss what Nintendo has going on.

Nintendo deserves all the smoke and criticism just like other companies do too.

But they haven't done much of late to earn the smoke other companies are getting IMHO.

At worst they're very aggressive about shutting down emulators profiting off their hardware and software, doing so supposedly in the name of "preservation". But I also can see that as them being protective of their IP, which they have every right to be protective of.

Nintendo failed as a console maker though. It failed so much that it had to kill its home console business and shift entirely to handheld to save itself.

Well, really they merged their home & handheld lines into one product. But even with systems like Wii U, they didn't actually lose money. Wii U was pretty profitable for them because 1P software sales were extremely high on it.

It is not cope. If you want Sony to cut resources and produce more game to look cute, well, be my guess.

Do you want PS6 to be little more powerful than a NWS2 and produce cute looking games? Since you are saying Nintendo was smart.

Sony wants to develop blockbusters, Nintendo games AREN'T blockbusters. Simple as that. Mind you that if Sony would make Zelda, it wouldn't look like Nintendo is doing. It would look 2 generations ahead. Just making advanced graphics require huge manpower and time. Nintendo makes most of their money from 1st party because their game are super super cheap to make and never or barely go on sale.
Just accept that Nintendo runs a better gaming business than PlayStation do and stop trying to dismiss what Nintendo has going on.

Sure, they are selling games as it should. They are 1st party powerhouse.

Reading here that Nintendo was smart to avoid expensiveness ( obviously because weak and overpriced hardware ) of making advance looking games, would people complain if Sony is making a 1st party games which would look like Nintendo games and release it more? Which means greater amount of released games, but with dogshit graphics and performance. 🤔

Like I said, as if not creating a success like Mario, Pokemon, etc, was something Sony was choosing not to do.

The main appeal of Sony games have had for a long time have been the production value of their games. You dismiss Nintendo development efforts without realizing that what they do is extremely hard. What other publisher is having similar success selling full priced games with simple graphics?

The smoke I'm talking about is in perpetuity in regards to low end hardware/maximizing profits and rarely lowering prices. I care less about TOS and shutting down emulators thts what companies do to protect their assets. When the asuabs come with their bootleg Gucci bags raids happen and thy get shut down as thy are suppose to.

Sony has their own characters, yes. And Sony choose to make a blockbuster games

It is not hard when they pump up games regulary. Especially 2D Mario games on regular basis.

What other publisher is having similar success selling full priced games with simple graphics?

Neither one. As Nintendo doesn't have a similar success with games which are advanced in graphics, gameplay and audio and writing because they don't have a single blockbuster looking game like Sony, Rockstar, CDPR or Remedy.

Nintendo games have great art direction tho, and so do SIE's games.

If SIE can find ways to make stuff like TLOU2 and HFW for the PS4 looking as good as they do, they can find ways to cut back redundancies in the budgets without affecting quality and speed up the development cycles. That type of stuff's part of why they've been a market leader in consoles for pretty much every generation since they released PS1.

Some Nintendo games on PC/Xbox/PS would look like run of the mill games. Look at super princess peach. That's fanatical bundle tier.
