I don't know whether to praise Jim Ryan or hate him, under him the pc porting shenanigans have gained more ground but the guy has absolutely delivered on beating xbox into submission, He delayed the merger for a whole frickin year and still walked away with CoD for 10 yrs. He derailed xbox plans and put them on the backfoot the whole generation since day 1 but his gaas initiatives seems to have faltered a lot. I don't know whether to champion him for destroying xbox or hate him for going to PC

Tbh I could see the Coalition ditching the Gears franchise after Gears 6 & working on a COD spin off that’s 3rd person that could be interesting ngl. Or the Coalition can act as a support studio helping Treyarch work on Zombies since Coalition has some PVE experience
I don’t think they would close Obsidian. They’ll probably use Obsidian as a Bethesda support studio, or a studio to make Fallout spin-offs.
What about Compulsion, I always thought they were a mediocre dev and xbox buying them was a scraping the bottom of a barrel type of purchaseLmao an hour ago. Same source;

I think The Initiative are the guys most at risk because after 6 years they have nothing to show and they're supposedly made up of industry veterans from other franchises (i.e. they're all pretty expensive), but then again they're a relatively small studio.
On the other hand, Ninja Theory seems to be going exactly the same way as Tango.

Turn 10 is the most obvious, but there are many other prime candidates. The Initiative, Rare, 343, Ninja Theory, Machine Games, Double Fine, inXile, Undead Labs, none of those would be surprising and most of them will likelly be shut down in the next few years at this rate.
