In an Interview with Christopher Dring

Seems Team Asobi hasn't grown in the last 2 years and have kept to 60-65 employees, despite the goal of around 100:
Back in 2022, Asobi was around 60 employees, with Doucet expecting it to grow to 100. Instead, they've just added "a handful more" in the two years since.

"We've kept it quite tight," he says. "Even though this game is obviously bigger, it really comes down to people knowing the game well. It's a good size."

Everyone loves Astro Bot:
During Summer Games Fest last week, I frequently asked our friends in the games media what they've seen or played that's impressed them. We don't get to play as much as we'd like at GamesIndustry.biz, and so it's useful intel to hear what the journalists think.

In almost every conversation, one game would come up again and again: Astro Bot.

Also sounds like Astro probably won't come to PC:
And indeed, it was this that seemed to excite many of the journalists we spoke to in Los Angeles. In an era where most games, even first-party games, have been built so that they can be played across all sorts of devices – mobile, consoles and PC – it's exciting to find something that has been very purposefully created for one platform.

Doucet concludes: "Very often we have this conversation. There are so many things that are bound to the essence of PlayStation with this game, that it is difficult to imagine it elsewhere. It is really built for PlayStation."

People expecting Astro to come to PC after R&C and Sackboy Big Adventure misery failed there is just having wishful dreams.

Switch is a better for a successful port than PC.

This might end up being the only permanent ps5 exclusive outside of playroom

I can’t see a sony focused title like this going to another console platform either. It would be like nintendo porting a wii sports to playstation. The dualsense is half the experience

I mean was anyone expecting anything different? Of course it feels at home did Christopher Dingdong even play the Ps5 demo? That was a prime example of where the game would head. It was made with the intent to help their numbers and a establish a new I.P.

After how badly Ratchet and Sackboy did on pc it makes zero sense to port any platformer. Those types of games dont have an audience there. Not to mention this game is a showcase of the dualsense and 30 year history of Playstation. Pc isnt even part of half of it

Glad to see they kept their studio small, the budget should be fairly good for them as well. I have no doubt this game will be a success across Europe. I hope it's a success in their home turf as well.

This game is gonna score close to 95

If reviewers were honest, yes. How many reviewers can’t give more than an 8 to PS games outside GoW or TLoU, even when quality is way above other games that score better?

He may say that now, but who knows what Totoki, Herman & Hideaki will say about that.

Which is symbolic of the bigger problem: certain creatives may want one thing, but their superiors might just force them to bring something like Astro Bot (per this example) to other platforms anyway. It's at a point where the odd exception here or there doesn't a pattern make, so until that pattern is established why should anyone believe what the odd exception has to say?

Also brief aside but, if any platform could benefit from a version of Astro Bot that wouldn't impede on the console, it'd probably be mobile.
