Metroid Prime 4 was the highlight of the show and even it looked dated.

Really disappointing.

Honestly don’t care about the HD remakes and regurgitated games like Mario & Luigi and now a Zelda Awakening.

It’s my biggest issue with Nintendo.

Laughable people are even given this showcase A and B.

The same people would be rioting if Sony remakes and regurgitates shit.

Nintendo can get away with it. People love the nostalgia hit.

Nintendo fans will enjoy actual games while you play GAAS slop like Concord

A B+ from me.
A good cadence of different games with Sept/Oct/Nov release from 1st party, no HUGE hitter but there's quantity. Which is pretty much all you could hope for a system that is that old and is on its last year as the only console available.
A new Mario Party and a Zelda game are going to sell well and a new M&L is just extra.

Things like the HD-2D DQ 3(and 1+2) are probably going to sell a boatload of copies on Switch in Japan.

the double standard is what pisses me off

I think it's less double standards but different fanbases vibing with different things.

MTX in games is super common, but just imagine some CRPG developer starts putting some in their games.
Just wait to see deluge of negative review being left on Steam compared to any other game if that was to ever happen.

Something nobody would bat an eye on in another genre.

Star of the show for me was Marvel Capcom Crossover. Xmen vs SF is like my favourite fighter along with SFA2.

Funny that a Nitendo Direct was the one who had the announcement. Bodes well for a Switch 2 port of SF6(not that I had any doubts, it runs on PS4 afterall.)

Seeing a non-arcade 1UP cabinet thing coming out is putting hopes with Capcom fans that MvC4 is a possibility.
People had given up hope considering MvCI was a disaster and the relationship between Marvel and Capcom was quite tenuous during the development which led to an acrimonous breakup.

Of course the Marvel Games of 2014-2017~ and the Marvel Games of now is completely different, so there was always some vague hope, but now the hopium is in full force for a potential sequel.

Yeah they did, but are you ignoring all of the new games that were announced too? Didn't count them, but I don't think either Sony or MS showed as many new titles this year as Nintendo just did. Whether you want them or not is a different question, they definitely skew differently overall.

But there is no doubt that Nintendo is working on software and putting it out for sale at a regular pace.

Prime 4 also looks like a Switch 1 title to me.
I see them, I think a couple of them were cool. thats usually how directs go for me

Considering Nintendo had non of those Capcom games those days its interesting to see it at there show.

Yeah I wonder if they will do another, but I havent been a fan of Capcom’s fighting art styles since PS2.

Would of been smart if they made a Xmen COTA2 for the Xmen 97 release. It doesnt have to be a huge big title with modern graphics, Capcom was releases multiple fighters almost every year with different sprites too, all with small teams. They could of kep the art style like COTA/ Xmen 97 and have a low price

Not just their fans. You have so called Sony fans heaping praises.

Not just remasters and remakes but the same regurgitated shit with a new coat of paint.

There are people excited for another Mario Party, Mario & Luigi game and now a Zelda controlled game with Links awakening graphics.

Surprised Nintendo didn’t announced another Mario Tennis, Mario Football, Mario Golf and a new Yoshis world game with a new texture. We had wool and paper. Whats next?
If you really expected another Yoshi game then you must not be paying attention as that team did the Princess Peach game that came out three months ago.

No one is playing that.

It hasn’t even been released.

Enjoying FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Helldivers 2 and Rise of the Ronin currently.

You continue to enjoy Mario Party 13, Mario and Luigi 8, Metroid 23, Mario Kart 17, Zelda 33, Mario Tennis 18, Mario Golf 17, Mario Football 9 and the remasters/remakes of previous games.

Can’t wait to play them too.

Looking forward to rescuing Zelda again from Ganondorf, Peach from Bowser and seeing Mario in every videogame under the sun by Nintendo.

A solid B, maybe B+. Lot of interesting exclusive content for a console with an announced (but unrevealed) successor.

The 2025 stuff will probably be cross-gen, so it will be interesting to see them run on the new hardware.

I'm not a fan of it, but it's interesting how Nintendo is using their very old games and giving them the online/competitive twist.

This showcase wasn’t better than the Xbox showcase.

At least Microsoft are making new IPs and a lot of them. No remasters or remakes either.

As opposed to remasters/remakes along with regurgitated shit.

Nintendo knows their fans are like Nostalgia crack addicts and love this shit.

More regurgitated crap.

Of course Nintendo fans love this sort of shit.

Metroid Prime 4 will be Day 1 but it looks disappointing graphically.
Been hearing this common refrain since the 90s and i remember thinking that the people who said it were dopes, even back then. I’ll take zelda, mario, luigi, dk, metroid over 99% of the absolute shit that comes out today.

D

Mostly multiplatform and/or refurbished or emulated (even mobile games like Metal Slug or Fantasian) stuff, plus mostly filler uninteresting stuff typical from a Direct or a sunseting console.

We finally got a Prime 4 trailer but was boring, with no release date and didn't show anything new or interesting. The Zelda game seems ok but feels like a secondary B tier title refurbished from a remake and I think she deserved more for her own game.

Idk why you undermine Concord, it could be a fun game to play with friends.

This is the main reason I've never really cared for Xbox, so western rooted. People saying Xbox had one of the best shows ever with zero eastern presence.... yeah idk about that. the west has lowkey been cooked since 7th gen.

On topic, very disappointed it seems like Nintendo won't be remastering their magnum opus XCX. I am just praying that they have a sequel cooking and it's being saved for Switch 2..... PLEASE

the reason of your frustration is that youre looking at nintendo with the bias of a non-fan, i dont see any nintendo fan in a rush for new IP, theyre mostly wanting new installments of their alread favorite franchises, and theyre getting it, even new fans that are new to the nintendo ecosystem (and you could say that there is a lot, since the previous nintendo consoles sold like shit) are happy to play remasters and remakes from the same IPs theyre introduced during the switch era

Who said I’m not a fan?

Been gaming on Nintendo consoles since the late 80s.

Nintendo need to stop regurgitating their franchises and selling us nostalgia hits.
