Exactly, it should have been clear from the beginning. The outrage (for the legit people affected) was taking the game away by locking it to PSN requirements months after purchased, played etc.
After that, it has been done right. Ghost of Tsuhima for example, I double dipped for that on Steam...
Again, the point is the confusion leading up to it. Steam said it was required, Sony Website says optional, the CEO even said it was optional directing people to Sony's website for the TOS.
This is why the questions were asked, because people were getting 2 different types of information.

The Helldivers 2 fiasco was justified on the users part, Sony did the right thing by reversing that decision. They do have every right to ask for PSN requirements for future games, I don't have an issue with that. Even if It's IMO silly for single player games but again it's their choice.

Not quite, at least for me that's not the reason. My 'official' residency is Monaco (Monte Carlo). I cannot use my PSN account at all there! I can use the other launchers though! I have to be back in the UK to use my console or PSN through my PC.
I managed to secure 3 x 30th Anniversary Edition PS5 Pro's. Keeping 1, selling the other 2 for 5k each. Yes it might look bad, but it was so easy to get using a program, that not only bypasses the queue, uses 3 different accounts to purchase. Could have done more easily!
