Helldivers is not second party. It’s only owned by Sony and developed by a third party dev. Arrowhead can sign an agreement with MS tomorrow.
Neither is stellar blade
Rare was a Nintendo second party when Nintendo owned close to 50% of the company. Microsoft bought them 100% and then they...
Waiting for Final Shape estimates (which I doubt we shall see). Still impossible to ever get numbers on these but launch week is estimated at 2 to 2.3 million expansions sold if the same as Lightfall. But it’s been tracking well week over week so I’m expecting 5 million by years end. If...
PSSR implementation is not system wide right? Like are we seeing res improvement in older non supported titles? I feel like I am noticing better image quality and performance in games not listed.
I’m under the assumption that any game with Dynamic resolution scaling will see worthwhile...
1st party - published and developed by hardware maker for their own platform
3rd party - makes games for all platforms. Not owned by hardware manufacturer.
2nd party - partially owned by hardware maker. Only handful still exist.
Bloodborne is Sony published and owned but still a third party...
CCU is a terrible metric for single player games since most are not meant to be replayed for thousands of hours with no end. A 6 hour game will never have a high ccu for instance. Most will be done within a day or two.
Ccu can telegraph launch hype but you cannot draw comparisons to sales...
Hmm. Under 3 million for launch window (six months) and that might be the last dragon age game for another decade.
If the next Mass Effect doesn’t pull a redemption arc BioWare might get shuttered.
Mass Effect’s director distanced himself from Veilguard since it launched tho. Someone at...
Ronin’s update is unimpressive. Performance mode runs more stable it seems but quality and ray tracing still very much junk running at low and inconsistent frame rates
Crew Motorfest def has improved image quality. Very nice improvement.
I will try Warhammer later and Remnant 2 later in...
I saw the vid. Don’t agree with his estimates. He doesn’t have access to data that we don’t to extrapolate such estimates.
Not sayinh any of this is untrue… just rather wait for more legit sales data and estimates.
Isn’t his next game announced with Herman being more intimately developed with Playststion studios internally?
I wonder if Death Stranding always had something in the contract where Kojima could buy it after X amount of time.
So you wonder what they agreed to for the next one. I’m very...
The only issue with this is no guarantee in having the same director or studios making sequels to it. These risk being sequels in name only. Not the best scenario but not all working partnerships are the same. I mean… not everyone wants to sell or not yet.
Second party was kinda meant to define Rare’s position when Nintendo owned a good chunk while also being a hardware maker. There aren’t too many modern examples of this. Nintendo I think had a few relationships like this but eventually they would flat out wholly own studios like retro etc or...
Thats no question. Xbox is kinda no more and will be fully rebranded as Gamepass and Windows store as they license out console OS to third party boxes like the first steam machine concepts.
Sony split its stock. Shuttered failed studios. And sold off Death Stranding. They probably just want...
Astrobit has done well. Means a lot more than what the bundled game did.
I don’t think that means to bring back older kid IPs. New ones sure… I think the furry era of brand mascots ended with the 90s.
Blasphemy in this thread. Kojima has defined PlayStation.
Yes, Kojima needs a leash. I agree that he’s too obsessed with spending money on Hollywood talent but… he’s still got it. So I’m onboard no matter what.
Insomniac stuck making marvel is actually a huge bummer. But they’d rather sell off Death Stranding and license more from Disney.
The thing is… even if Marvel is now junk to the point they needed Downey Jr. back … I do expect Insomniac to pull it off just because X men has an epic ton of...
