D4 is likely around 8 months away. There is a lot of fun to be had on D3 and D2. These games have enough replay value and are different enough for you to come back later. I don't think I'll never play D3 after D4 releases (currently playing D2 ressurected).

No one without MS money could have made it though with 3 gen loses. SEGA turned around a 90% Nintendo market share and had legs that MS never had. Capcom, Sega and Square joining forces making an exclusive platform. That would put a real dent in the market. The listed choices, not at all.
