They did share the stats of the combined Xbox One and XS install base in some presentation in Brazil. Point being if Xbox One isn't that high, XS is higher and we know that isn't the case.
The ceiling for current XS sales is (charitably) 25 mil. Lifetime sales will be well under 30mil.
Good thread. It's the one thing they need to work on as a priority. Being able to carry your gaming history with you makes PlayStation much more durable as a platform, and harder to give up for any gamer invested into it.
Given Xbox's catastrophic decline this past quarter, with the highest of high-end estimates peaking at 800k units for the quarter just gone, the hardware is likely sitting squarely at just under 25 million units lifetime. (See Xbox LTD sales estimates from Feb).
Meta Quest 2 had sold 20...
Wow so reading through this news, Xbox is down (-4%), ABK is down 17%, and combining the two and comparing them to just Xbox this time last year is the only way to spin this into an increase. What in the actual fuck. They're worse together than they were apart.
Everything that Xbox touches...
Bwahahahahaha what the fuck? Get in here and take your lumps @Welfare. This is batshit crazy. The console is on a terminal decline year on year, is closer to 25 mil than 30 mil, and you're thinking it's going to DOUBLE its sales from now until the plug is pulled this time next year?
Worse than the pearl clutching is weaponising pearl clutching for console wars. Brb, buying the game for full price so the developers get the max amount of $$$s for their great work.
I'm going to make up my own mind about this game but anyone who criticised it for sex appeal is going straight on my shitlist. I'll never consider that reviewer's (or publication's) reviews again.
Didn't know they let you do that. Now the high CCUs for early access titles makes a lot of sense. And they must've been seeing a huge amount of refunds to even consider closing this loophole after 8 years.
Will be interesting to see how much the stats drop.
