Honestly, all this talk due to the drama is pretty pointless.
Where it is placed on the rankings for stores is relative to what's there.

Folks could save themselves the brainpower and wait for when the game launches and we get positions/estimates(with commentary) about the 1st week/1st month sales of the game.

I'm sure Circana/GSD will have some sort of AC Shadows sales comp with Valhalla/Odyssey/etc...

They're obviously buying it now so they can review bomb it at launch. 🤡

Just goes to show again that gaming forums and social media are just a very loud minority.

This outcry over a black character and "historical accuracy" is even more embarrassing than the #FreeStellarBlade "movement"

How's that going btw?

People gonna buy the fuck out of this game

If Shadows is about the same as the last few AC games, it should comfortably be the #2 selling modern AC over Odyssey.
It's possible it could beat Valhalla but it's not guaranteed.
Viking TV shows in the years prior really boosted interest in the setting + pandemic boost in 2020 were strong factors as to why it's the most profitable AC game.

I had no idea AC sells so well now, 20m?!? I wonder what the split between xbox/ps/pc is
Not sure if they ever published publicly for AC, but as usual PS was their main platform in the past, now should be PS and PC the main platforms as it is for their whole company and most big AAA publishers (in some publishers PC is slightly ahead):

Some extra data: Ubisoft had 138M unique active users during last year. Out of them, AC and Rainbow Six had 30M users each (this includes game subs).

A couple years ago they mentioned that the yearly franchise revenue of AC, Far Cry and R6 is $300M/year.

Can't remember the exact number but they mentioned Valhalla is the top grossing AC ever selling over 25M + addons (Ubi adds season passes, DLCs, IAPs, special editions). As I remember they also mentioned it generated well over a Billion. As I remember these numbers are from 2-3 years ago, and Ubi games have great legs: they make a lot of their money from catalog games. Meaning, its sales should be higher now.
