I found it in Installbase by Grady.

These are the CESA estimates:

So if I'm reading it right, that would put PS5 2021 sales (in the listed regions) at 8.56 million units, and Series X/S 2021 sales at 5.62 million in the same regions. I would be interested in some numbers from the Asia, Brazil/South America, Africa, and Middle East regions but maybe those already exist? But I'm mainly interested because I would feel the ratio of difference between PS and Xbox sales in those regions would more or less mirror the results here outside of NA/Canada/UK.

I figure with those figures, along with 2020 and 2022 (thus far) numbers, we'd get numbers lining up pretty much with the recent Ampere report/results.

I think it shows that US is around 60% of Xbox sales.... it is actually 66% but lacking other minor countries that together can make it reach the 60%.
Said that Ampere says 13.8 million for 2020, 2021 and mid-2022.

MS says Series is the fastest launch Xbox so it needs be higher in 2020 than 3 million that Xbox One archived in 2013 but still less than 4.5m PS5.

2020: 3.5m
2021: 6.22m (adjusted to 60% US)
Half 2022: 4m

That let 4 million for 2022 that seems off... like too high.
What did you think shipment this year? Tracks says Xbox in tracking down yoy if I'm not remembering wrong (NPD I need to check).

Other possibility.

2020: 4m (remember Series sold significantly less than PS5 that shipped 4.5m)
2021: 6.5m (~57% US)
Half 2022: 3.3m

In any case the Ampere data doesn't seem far off... at least these data put the 15-20m by some Xbox users out of option because that needs to put 2020 over PS5 and 2022 way higher than 2021... I don't think that happened or is happening.

Well keep in mind, for at some a good chunk of the first half of this year, Series X consoles were more plentiful and IMO that directly contributed to MS getting increases in total sales in NA, UK and other regions. I think it was Series X being more available as to why they were able to lead in sales in NA for the last three quarters of their 2021 FY (IIRC MS's starts in July and Sony's starts in April).

However, for the first quarter of their FY 2022, I think there was a statement from Microsoft saying they expect hardware sales to be more or less flat compared to Q1 of FY 2021. I don't know what their hardware sales were for that period last year, maybe you or someone else does though. I also think that's partly due to them expecting to have less Series X units, and we're already seeing them do free game deals with Series S in territories like NA starting in August, which IMO are to drive demand for that system since it's probably now going to be the absolute majority of Series consoles on shelves for this quarter and MS's Q2 for FY 2022.

So them doing 4 million for Jan - June 2022 might not be that hard to believe tbh. That's when there was a very noticeable increase of Series X units in the distribution channels. Whether that's tied to the "chip priority" rumors I don't know; if those rumors were ever true, then more Series X units during that period for customers was just a side benefit from earlier priority MS paid in early 2021 for Series X silicon to put in Azure clusters, they finished kitting out the Azure clusters with Series X chips sometime last summer.

Do we have Sony's Jan-June 2022 numbers to compare?

Other possibility.

Yeah, and that's the main benefit of getting these data reports out there; they're helping us put a cap on the realistic range and it's probably somewhere between 13.5 million to 14 million LTD for Xbox Series at current point in time (or at least up to June - July; were the Ampere numbers for up to June, July, or August?).

I think your second number range could work, I would just need to know what Sony's numbers were for the January - June period in 2022. We know they were tracking behind their own targets due to shortages, but I do think they still managed at least 3.5 million. I need to check their quarterly statements again (or hopefully, someone else has them on record to pull up easily).

But hardware is down for Xbox Series in Jan-Jun 2022 compared to Jan-Jun 2021... at least that is what I get from their financials?

Edit - Just checked... Jan-Mar it grow... Apr-Jun it fall... overall I don't know.

Then Jan-Mar must've been when Series X units were more plentiful. I thought that last through to June, guess not.

Yep, numbers are down YoY.

For entire Jan-June period or just April-June?

They have 1 device priced nearly twice what the others is.

So if you are going by revenue, you can't really tell whether unit sales are up, or down.

It matches very well with the Ampere estimate for worldwide sales until mid 2022, which was a difference between x1.5 and x1.6.

Which makes sense, because this table includes NA and most EU sales, which are probably around 60-70% of the worldwide sales of Xbox and PS, and the proportion shouldn't have changed a lot from 2021 numbers only to also include on top of that like a month and a half of 2022 and around half 2022.

That'll have to be confirmed by checking the quarterly reports. I'll see if I get some time today, but I'm swamped at work.
