As usual.Man, PlayStation and Nintendo gamers are eating well
This is the biggest issue. The Gears games haven't evolved at all. They're still the same games from 2006. Same goes for Halo.Gears was good back in the day. Unfortunately the game's from the 360 era mechanics, level design and AI haven't aged well at all but the multiplayers could be a good nostalgia visit.
They made the last one open world...but it was pointless. You jump on a skiff and move from location to location, every so often one of your comrades points out a side quest you can investigate if you want to, and they're extremely basic firefights with maybe some items at the end of it.This is the biggest issue. It adds tedium. I don't mind sandbox areas if they're meaningful. But no, you go across the desert to a remote location, fight a few DeeBees and collect an upgrade point. Repeat. They made the last one open world...but it was pointless. Doesn't add anything.
IIRC it wasn't really open world either, it was "open area" to put some level of exploration in there. But like you said it didn't bring a lot to the game as new stuff to do was quite a bit barren. I remember playing it cooped with friends and we found those parts to be kind of a drag. They made the last one open world...but it was pointless. They made the last one semi open world (not open per se) and I remember them doing that off the heels of Uncharted 4 doing it and mentioning making game more open like Uncharted. They made the last one open world...but it was pointless. Just Playstation games need a "break".Yeah it was semi-open world, felt like it was just cashing in on a trend rather thinking about how it might work to improve the formula.
Really the franchise should have been given a break, similar to how Uncharted has been.
I need another Resistance for sure!Just Playstation games need a "break".
Xbox, nintendo can punch tens of the same game with easy.
No, just no. Give me ninth Killzone, Resistance, God of War, GT..
