The news is being spread everything and while it is not direct related to videogames it show a trend imo.
What made Samsung globally leader all these years? Because in US Apple sells more by a big margin (they had over 50% of the market across all players)… Samsung indeed sells a lot of Premium devices but what made them market leader worldwide were the low and mid-end devices.
Things are changing… and for a time already.
Consumers today like Premium things, Gourmet things, ecosystems that give them that unique/special sensation… in that trend low and mid-end are not that desired anymore.
Of course low and mid-end won’t stop to sell but more and more consumer will go premium instead.
IMO that shows a big opportunity to Sony in videogame market… I think they already saw that… more premium, special, unique experience is what consumers wants in today market even if they had to pay more for that.
