The European Commission should be spammed along with Magarethe Vestiger, who obviously didn't do her job right. When the real intention is revealed and you couldn't read the tea leaves even though you're supposedly an expert.... then you should not be working there.
Oh don't worry, I plan to. I have no issue getting in their comments feed and pointing stuff like this out to them. I try to keep it respectful and wait until they post about something they want to boast about, though. If you do it everyday on every single post it's going to look like spam & harassment.
And to the people saying "Well duh all competitors want this!". NO! There is a major difference between Sony & Microsoft here. Sony might want Microsoft out of gaming as a direct competitor, but they're trying to do that by offering the best console possible to gaming customers who then buy it in larger amounts than rivals, by making great 1P software and doing deals with 3P devs/pubs that are clearly within the rights of fair competition.
Microsoft wants to push Sony out by buying up the largest 3P publishers and IP, controlling the supply and cutting their direct competitor (Sony) off from access to that supply completely. And by access, I mean in ways their direct competitor can actually work independently with those 3P devs and pubs.
Guess I'll make a drug dealer analogy here: MS wants to buy up all the Columbian cocaine suppliers (the 3P devs & pubs), sell their product through their own turfs and turfs of competitors (direct competitor console platforms, storefronts, services etc.), and get the majority of the money from all of those sales. Meanwhile, preventing the other dealers (direct competitors) from having direct access to any of the Columbian connects (3P publishers).
