Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Retail Version might contain 4 Discs

Announced by Larian Studios in November 2023, the physical edition of Baldur's Gate 3 promises to be very generous in its amount of content. According to publishing manager Michael Douse, those who purchase the Xbox version could end up taking home three to four installation discs.



In an interview with Kotaku, Douse explained that this is due to an internal decision by the developer. As they want the whole game to be available without the need to download any of its parts, this has considerably increased the amount of physical media required.

Larian is doing so many things right. As a person who prefers physical media, the decision to include all content on the discs (even if it increases the amount of discs) is exactly what I want to hear.

Strange, for cyberpunk 2077 ultimate edition they have choosen to use 3 UHD discs.

Xbox is double layered. Ps5 is triple.

Why waste the money producing physical copy's of games for Xbox when no one's going to buy them

It's pointless for Xbox since the majority of Xbox owners are on series S that has no disk drive (series X is cutting the disk drive aswell once they 'adorably all digital' refresh releases) aswell as the majority xbox players using the console as a gamepass machine & not buying games lol

This edition was basically made to order. They know exactly who will buy them and who to ship to: every copy has a name and a paid bill onto it.
