In the first quarter (three months) of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, each business has quickly promoted various measures to adapt to changes in lifestyles and preferences of customers, and the Digital Business, Toys and Hobby Business and Amusement Business performed favorably, resulting in a year-on-year increase in revenues. Profits also increased significantly due to strong repeat sales of home video games, which have high profit margins. Profits were also boosted by foreign exchange gains on transactions denominated in foreign currencies due to the weak yen.

The Company has revised its consolidated projections for the second quarter (six months) of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, which were announced on May 11, 2022, as shown in the table to reflect the significant progress in actual results and recent market environment for the first quarter (three months) of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, the marketing plans of the products and services in the second quarter (six months) of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, etc. Consolidated projections for the full year have not been revised in light of the future situation remaining unclear, such as holding off on launching major titles in home video games from the third quarter (nine months) of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, in addition to the coming Christmas and New Year selling season, which is a large-scale selling season, impact of the continuing spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and foreign exchange fluctuations in Japan and overseas. The Company will make another disclosure after reexamining the future consolidated projections for the full year.

* The above forward-looking statements are based on management’s estimates, assumptions and projections at the time of publication. A number of factors could cause actual results to differ materially from
expectations.

Very solid performance. Gonna be hard to keep that going without a major release that will hit like Elden Ring.

Scarlet Nexus tanked. It basically hit one mill and stopped. It probably over shipped and crawled its way there also.

They made all this money and yet they refuse to give me a refund for my .Hack GU collector's edition that they smashed up in the mail, because it was sent in a small paper envelope.

For an order traveling thousands of miles
which they charged $70USD for international shipping
For one little small Switch sized case.

Bamco, you bastards.

Yeah Bandai was been more buddy with Xbox in the last few years, while Square has been buddy with PlayStation.

Japan is only ~10% or less of their game sales:

Seems Elden Ring continues selling a lot. I wonder why became so popular, when soulsborne games traditionally weren' that huge.

Correct but the marketing deal was on Xbox if I remember right.
I'm not that sure. In the Sony 3rd party relations office they had a huge Elden Ring statue.

Scarlet Nexus

I don’t think Elden Ring had a marketing deal with any platform

I agree, I think they didn't have any marketing deal for Elden Ring. They simply had some trailer in MS event but also had some stuff in PS blog plus Sony has the statue. They are good with everyone.

What happens with Scarlett Nexus? Is there any report of it having good or decent sales? Because I don't see it as a super seller.

Elden Ring was announced at the Xbox E3 2019 conference, but always has been a multiplatform game and didn't seem to have any relationship with MS other than releasing their announcement trailer at their event.

Scarlet Nexus is also multiplatform but as I remember it had its marketing more tied to MS, maybe they had a marketing deal. According to wikipedia:

"The PlayStation 4 version of Scarlet Nexus sold 20,160 physical copies during its first week on sale in Japan, making it the fifth best selling retail game of the week in the country. The PlayStation 5 version sold 11,008 copies throughout the same week in Japan, making it the country's ninth bestselling retail game of the week.[31] Scarlet Nexus was the fifth best-selling game of June 2021 in the US, and was also the sixth best-selling game on both the Xbox and PlayStation charts that month.[32] By April 2022, the game had sold 1 million units and reached 2 million players.[33]"

Scarlet Nexus def had a marketing deal with xbox, they even released a timed demo on xbox a week or two earlier than playstation. For a long time there was almost nothing in their marketing pointing to playstation.

I was just saying it felt like it underperformed at bit selling a million units. I feel like the gamepass deal probably killed some of its legs a little, but probably not much, game just didn’t grab a hold of people like Tales of Arise did that year. This is what im referring to.
