Normal? Which game got official slash after 2 months?
It is normal at retail from the retail (retail loses margins)... not digital or physical from the Publisher (publisher loses margins).

FFXVI got a official temporary publisher cut.
It is off 20% in PS Store... Diablo IV never got a cut in PSN... it is full priced yet.

Show me a game that ever got a Publisher cut a week after release... I'm not even sure what are you talking anymore.

The game is decent but I didnt finish it although my son did. It felt very restricted at times and in the world itself. Meanwhile I have 40 plus hours in Remnant 2 and have beat it like three times.

Some pace issues make me give a break to the game after Bahamut arc.
After three weeks I started to play again and now I'm near the end but the first part was really great compared with the so-so late parts.

I still think that everything related to Ultima feels off from the story.
Maybe that is why the first part of the story was great.
