We're a little over 2 weeks away from the launch of the PS5 Pro. While exciting for sure especially to see Pro Enhanced Titles, right now I'm thinking specifically about what games might be really good benchmarks for the PS5 Pro's boost mode for games that are simply not enhanced.

Uncharted 4 comes to mind. The game runs at a native 4K on PS5 and has an uncapped mode aimed at delivering above 40 fps. It'll be interesting to see how close the PS5 Pro comes to delivering 4K60 on Uncharted 4 out of the box.

The original game on PS4 ran at 1080p30 and the PS4 Pro version ran at 1440p30. It's interesting that back in the days of the PS4 Pro Sony was significantly more focused on resolution improvements than framerates. Arguably, many games could have benefited from running 1080p60 rather than 1440p30 and in case like Bloodborne maybe even running slightly under 1080p in order to get that 60 fps mark.

A lot of people think the PS4 Pro made more sense than the PS5 Pro, but with marketing in line with what gamers actually want, we should be able to get consistently better performance out of games for the rest of the generation. And thankfully this generation the push has been more focused on 60 fps, meaning most Pro games will also run at 60 with improved visuals.

With all the ray tracing, I would like to see what cyberpunk looks like.
