I just finished loading up Spiderman PC and with all the graphics cranked up, the game looks marvelous! I've been playing God of War (2018) for the past 3 weeks and I've been studying that game's graphics features too.

In my opinion, Spiderman takes the graphics over God of War (2018). I can see an enormous amount of detail in the textures and the RT reflections look extremely accurate. This is all because of the native 4k backbuffers AND being able to push the fidelity up to the highest levels possible from the team. God of War looks incredible too and has high detail as well but Spiderman just surpasses it for me.

What do you guys think has the better graphics to you? This is entirely a subjective opinion of course.

For PS4 version vs PS4 version, I say GoW takes the crown.

Of course the PS5 version of Spiderman with RT, higher resolution etc. looks cleaner in comparison.

I think a fairer comparison can be made once Ragnarok releases and put it against Miles Morales.

It's a close call, as both have their high points. But I favor the art direction of the linear GoW game.

Same playing level GoW is more impressive graphically.

But Insomniac added things to Spider-man on PS5 that makes the difference like RT and so after that update Spider-man looks to take the lead.
PC beneficiastes from the new features added to PS5 while GoW didn't have that.

A GoW with RT should be a better comparison.
There is mod and it really changes everything.

I prefer God of War graphics but it's due to the art direction, not to the technicals themselves.

i mean one of them has raytracing so that is not fair to GOW
Well, if we are looking at overall it shouldn't matter whether it has RT or not.

Metro Exodus has full RT pipeline but looks very bad artistically.

spider man is doing a LOT more under the hood with that open map/traffic/pedestrians/traversal speed.... etc so i think it is technically advanced in most aspects compared to GOW and also has RT.
but i like the look of GOW more in general.

Metro Exodus only use RT in global illumination, no?

I don’t think we saw any game with full RT pipeline with modern graphics… unless you consider Quake or Minecraft as modern graphics ;)

BTW remember that Minecraft RT was said to be fully running on Xbox Series X before launch and over 2 years passed and nothing lol

It was only release for nVidia RTX.

At the time in 2018 it would have been GOW but Insomniac made some substantial upgrades when they remastered on PS5, the most obvious of which being the ray tracing

Still I prefer the art style of GOW

Spiderman looks way better than GoW. It's technically superior and I prefer it's semi-photoreal color palette to it. GoW does look amazing for sure though - just not as amazing as Spiderman.
