All he is saying is google is not willing to lose and eye for gaming. They rather keep their billions.
Don't blame them, nothing in gaming is worth $77 billion, ms is an anomaly that got an ego problem.

Are they going to issue refunds to people even in part? They'll probably get sued out the ass by the EU if they don't.
They are doing full refunds including hardware.

Q: Will I get a refund? What is available for a refund?

A: We will be offering refunds for all Stadia hardware purchases (Stadia Controller, Founders Edition, Premiere Edition, and Play and Watch with Google TV packages) made through the Google Store and software transactions (games and add-on purchases) through the Stadia store. Stadia Pro subscriptions are not eligible for refund, however you will be able to continue playing your games in Pro without further charges until the final wind down date.

Q: Do I have to return my hardware to get a refund?

A: Most hardware purchases (Stadia Controller, Founders Edition, Premiere Edition, and Play and Watch with Google TV packages) made directly from Google will not need to be returned. More details on how to obtain a refund for your Stadia hardware purchases will be posted here in the coming weeks.

oh wow really? holy shit, I didn't know they were doing all that, but then again it is a online thing, like you literally need the service for any of that to be relevant. Damn, let that be a fucking lesson to those trying to jump into this industry half cocked. Its funny cause many think MS joined gaming badly and now that we look at all theses flops, maybe they didn't do so bad lol

XB giant ass controller, limited support from the east.....

360 they learned. Controller fit for human hands, massive Japanese support, questionable first part lol Lots of missed deals like Bioware being bought by EA

XONE (they smoked a lot of crack before that reveal lol) DRM, always online, then Phil enters and they actually put games on PC day and date...smart, buy studios...smart and it seems like Phil was the dude that should have always been at the helm of XB cause I'd argue those moves should have fucking been done start of 360 generation.

Series X....much better situation then really any of the past XB systems. Normal launch, lots of first party future support, Japan support etc.

So maybe I was too hard on em lol shit, maybe I'm too hard on Google, for all we know they come out with a real console, buy Ubisoft, EA, sprinkle some Bandai Namco for the fucking weeboos and back in business lol They can still turn things around and its not the end of the world, but they can't come in thinking simply having 3rd party support is good enough or something.

So they are losing even more money then I realized if they are refunding people, someone's fired 3x times lol Like they wait till he gets a new job and then buy that company just to fire him again (its what I'd do just to be a bitch) lol

You still have to pay for GP so what's the difference? You can subscribe if you have mobile only.

The biggest selling point about xCloud is that you don't need a console. MS is expanding their datacentres in 3rd world countries as if those people are begging to play Halo on their tablets 🤣

MS will learn the hard way nobody gives a shit about cloud gaming. Sony and Google already knows there's no money there.
I can't imagine anybody cares about playing a AAA game on a phone or tablet. Not in the developed world anyway. And in the developing world the latency is going to be awful.

I don’t see the point in the latency, bandwidth cost, etc… hardware advances quick enough that we don’t need expensive streaming subs.

Price was the biggest mistake. Should’ve been an <10$ a month gamespass- like sub

People forget so soon that that a major contributor to Dreamcast failure was due to EA not publishing on the platform, a major publisher missing. Once you lose access to global brands it is inevitable you will bleed out to a competitor offering what you cannot.

Despite Stadias misgivings, it had no chance in ever growing market share no matter what without support of major publishers like Bathesda and potentially Activision. The path to success has been strangled to nothingness.

Jim must feel like he just won the sweepstake lottery with this news, underpinning and crystallising his stance. I thing the Activision sale as we know it is dead.
