Pretty sure even now its dead, since they moved to Helldivers and next year will move to Marathon.
Even destiny at its worst engagement (which is now) is still one of the top industry games and has half a million daily players. This is down significantly from last year this time (witch queen year was their most successful ever) but Destiny still bigger than new most games released month after month.
And no… it is nowhere near ending. Final Shape will effectively be a relaunch. Whether it’s successful at that is the question but they’ve done it with the game 4x over at this point and it most likely will be a banger. Anything saying otherwise is fake internet bs.
The Silver Surfer board is a dope reward tho for Guardian Games event tho.

Eh, all of that would be cool if done well but it’s probably simpler yet long term. The change in service model coming is a big change. The director change after 4 years to a bungie vet is a bigger deal. And most importantly, Final Shape needs to be a banger. They’re gonna have to rebuild their entire Destiny business again and it’s due.
They added one expansion and an entire year as filler to rebuild the game in time for Final shape. Well they def paid the price … because irregardless of quality being kinda great… it still feels like filler and that’s kinda shitty as a player too. Next week will see the first step towards the future with the pvp rework. Thus the timing of the ps plus drop…
I don’t even know if the mobile game is real anymore. Original rumor stated that it was being co-developed with Netease for like the last 5 years. Not a port. Something original to Destiny. For all we know that project could’ve turned into “gummy bears.” So they only really have three projects going on and all will be indefinite service platforms .. Destiny, Marathon and Gummy Bears. What was once known as Matter has most recently been rumored to have been internally cancelled in 2020.
There have been related reports to working with animation studios but that could be anything too if not game cinematics. That’s what Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy’s jobs currently are.
The era of reliable bungie leaks are sorta over but then again… they grew to 1400 so there’s gotta be something at some point.
