The addition to the game's Ricochet cheating system comes as part of the newly released Warzone season five.

If Ricochet removes a problem player from the game, the kill feed will immediately notify players in that lobby.

What could possibly go wrong...

Cheaters will more aggressively hack the game as payback for being shamed, and other players will be much more likely to bail any ongoing match as soon as the server starts screaming "cheater".

What the hell, Activision? Are you trying to run your biggest IP to the groubd before your new bosses take over?

It’s all lip service. Numerous companies are going hard on cheat providers. But it hasn’t really gotten better for any game if not worse.

Warzone is f2p. Cheaters don’t care. They’ll just make another account.

I hate to say it but the solution is paywalls. And insta-banning all ximmers and their Walmart bought cheat devices.

Cheaters should be treated with the utmost prejudice. Anyone who encourages and uses them are also pieces of trash.

They need to take this a step further. Console banning needs to be a thing.
Even further, they need to go to the cheater's home and burn it down, preferably with him/her in it.

Not just that, with tech nowadays it's a continuous battle and they circumvent pretty quickly whatever is put in place.

There is no fix for pirating. One goes down, 5 more prop up the next day. It’s like cyber security … you have no cyber security. There is no fix. It’s a 24/7 job that needs a dedicated team to monitor and act on the spot. They will always find a way to cheat and with the quickness.

Sorta the reason I’d like to see console f2p games like Fortnite and Warzone to be paywalled by PS Plus and XBL on console. That paywall alone will help mitigate.

Cheaters often claim they own the game and can interact them as they do please. Well… * reported * 5x over. Hope they lose all their shit 🤣

A lot of good takes on potential ways this can go wrong. Another one is shaming someone who didn't actually cheat - now that's a real shitshow.

But, strategically speaking... any mistakes for the COD franchise, small or big is good for the industry. If acquired by MS, it needs to die a slow death.
