Bayonetta has NEVER been successful. The IP’a claim to fame is a Smash Bros cross-over. Hype and excitement for Bayonetta currently is fake and manufactured by Nintendo fans that don’t buy it anyway. Only reason it still exists is because Nintendo needed something outside of No More Heroes to pretend like they have variety.

One million for a switch exclusive is actually kinda terrible. Especially after seeing how Switch managed to get a 2d Metroid game to outsell all previous and better entries in the series.

Stellar Blade will sell 3 to 5x as much as the best selling Bayonetta game.
