States just copying its design or mimicking it won't make a succesful game, something to tht effect.
When it comes to GaaS there is a lot to learn from Helldivers 2. They didn't blindly chase any trend and didn't try to abuse their player base.Yes, there is. Focus your game on having fun, and don't try to milk your customers with microtransactions and battle passes.
It not just about gameplay, plenty of these executives and devs that love GaaS so much are only fond of it because they see it as an easy way to abuse players and charge them for everything thing they can.Learning that people like gameplay isn't a lesson from Helldivers. We've known this since the beginning of gaming and many games have had success because of fun gameplay. That isn't unique to Helldivers.
"There is nothing to learn from the success of Helldivers 2."
I do? Lolno one cares about what this bum has to say
That's not it. If it was a AAA 1st party IP it would have flopped. No DnD is an excuse as to why Sony tentpole games don't sell well. There just isn't a market for them on PC.Yes there is
Day and date
Exactly. If PC gamers were truly a different, non-competing market, these games would see greater success. Instead they're pirated and plundered. That's not it. If it was a AAA 1st party IP it would have flopped. No DnD is an excuse as to why Sony tentpole games don't sell well. There just isn't a market for them on PC.
Seriously, what difference does a release date make? It's a brand new game for you. Not only that but if you were interested then the hype has been building for years, making the purchase even more likely.
Idk why none of these idiots try pushing that agenda with Nintendo. One of his most dumbest line was “PS should release there games day 1 on PC & should port there games including ten pole singleplayer games after 1-2 years once it has gotten all of its sales because Xbox is doing it themselves” without critically thinking how that would massively effect PS.
Idk why people think that porting your games in general won’t effect game sells & console sells just cause HFW got all of its sells & it’s now barely selling on PS, porting it to PC & Xbox just make it that those PC & Xbox gamers now know that eventually PS games will go to there platform & they can wait no longer buying the hardware or game on the PS platform & storefront. It also makes PS players migrate to other platform where they can save $ long term & receives more games on its platform. At this point you might aswell wait for HZ part 3 to release on PC knowing PS ports there game eventually (1-2 years) & you can save $ & build a library w a bigger catalog on PC. Honestly Steamdeck isn’t looking like a bad replacement for PS consoles especially if Sony does double down on PC & cuts port windows to 6 month to 1 year. I have a feeling Sony feels like PS can do anything & PS gamers will continue to invest on its platform w 0 benefit.
The only thing Sony learned w Helldivers 2 is that shooter games that are 3rd person should release day 1 on PC. Thoe ten pole like GT7 should remain exclusive to PS if anything make a GT horizon that focus on a more arcade customization/drift street racing GT game to expand the GT franchise to new younger consumer.
Do you really think that a full priced port of a game originally released 2, 4 or 10 years ago is going after having sold like 15 or 20 millions in other platform is going to sell the same than a brand new game? Seriously? That's not it. If it was a AAA 1st party IP it would have flopped. No DnD is an excuse as to why Sony tentpole games don't sell well. There just isn't a market for them on PC.
