"The title logo they created is insane!"No gameplay = no care
Worth noting that games aren't made in order, so his comment on early work doesn't necessarily suggest the project is still in early development. They're cooking. Let's hope whatever Cory is working on potentially gets revealed at a showcase this year.
Herman said something similar last summer when he visited Santa Monica. He called what he saw inspiring or something.

I loved GOWR. Santa Monica does great work, just shame they only have 1 game being developed at a time. After the way he hyped Ragnarok in the same manner. I'll keep my expectations in check when it comes to his hype tweets.
He did. It was in pre production. It most likely didn’t start full production until 2023 after Ragnarok was completed. Also don’t forget there was a pandemic, the worst time to start a project.Early work.Damn
There goes hopes he started this in 2019/2020. They havent expanded there studios to work on 2 projects at once...
Bruh. After all of these layoffs that are happening in the industry, you really want these studios to expand? Also SSM is in California. If Sony expands that studio with how high California wages are, that’s more money that Sony is going to have to pay to those devs, which will make those games more expensive to make. Sony needs to invest in studios outside of Cali, those wages are driving those game budgets.I loved GOWR. Santa Monica does great work, just shame they only have 1 game being developed at a time.
Seems like Sony has only given Insomniac the keys to work multiple projects at once, imagine they were smart enough to do that with all there major studios like Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Guerilla and Santa Monica
Ragnarok is a good game but I also found the game a bit of a letdown and it felt rushed lol.I loved GOWR. Santa Monica does great work, just shame they only have 1 game being developed at a time.

Considering there games make big profits yes I expect them to expand. Only 1 game this gen didnt make profit which was destruction all stars.Bruh. Insomniac is different.Considering there games make big profits yes I expect them to expand. Only 1 game this gen didnt make profit which was destruction all stars.
Insomniac did and they are releasing games almost every 2 years, high quality games. Imagine if the rest of the studios were releasing games every 2 years
They have been given proper resources and have a great management. Sony should do he same with the other studios so we get more games.Insomniac is different.
They grew and Sony Santa Monica had over 400 employees since at least a couple years ago, which is enough people to lead 2 or 3 AAA games at full production. There goes hopes he started this in 2019/2020. They havent expanded there studios to work on 2 projects at once...
Sounds great. I wish they started in 2018-2019 after GOW2018. So we would have the new ip now or next year tops. They grew and Sony Santa Monica had over 400 employees since at least a couple years ago, which is enough people to lead 2 or 3 AAA games at full production.
We know Ragnarok and Valhalla had different teams, and that Cory might be working on its new IP, which would be a 3rd team. The Ragnarok team apparently is working on the next GoW set in a new mythology.
They should not be wasting resources on PC ports.I doubt they are wasting time on the TV Show more than just ideas or some of the older heads giving inputs. They may also overviewing the GoWR PC port plus the tv show adaptation of GoW.
Cory said that after shipping GoW 2018 was going to have vacations with the family and in summer 2018 was going to work on a pitch of a new IP. Being optimistic, after around 6-9 works of preproduction it would be greenlighted. Meaning, that if that new IP got greenlighted they started its production in minimum H1 2019.Sounds great. I wish they started in 2018-2019 after GOW2018. So we would have the new ip now or next year tops.
They don't waste resources on PC ports. Compared to the over 200-300M budget of a brand new game, a PC port only takes around a couple millions and is made by a separate unrelated team (Valkyrie + Jetpack in case of GoW, Nixxes for Insomniac, Guerrilla or Sucker Punch, Iron Galaxy + Visual Arts for ND).They should not be wasting resources on PC ports.I doubt they are wasting time on the TV Show more than just ideas or some of the older heads giving inputs.
