They have no other narratives left currently. It's been absolutely dire on the other side. We've never had a generation where one side stopped showing up (well, maybe Philips CD-i).
The playbook of this gen for xbox is
1 show no gameplay during shows
2 delay the game atleast once
3. announce they'll release with only 30 fps mode
4. release and nobody ever speaks of those games anymore. Zero sticking power.

Let's do a game to check the severity of this gen failing:
We've reached the midpoint of the gen, so name atleast 3 console exclusives that defined the Series console so far.

Then try it for the Xbox One, and you'll be able to name 3 games. Then check the release dates of those games and you'll find out they released before the midway point and closer to launch.

DF has been at the forefront of those narratives.
Since the announcement of PS5 Pro, they are releasing video after video about the Pro.

DF a few years ago used to be much more professional and happy. All their narratives turn out to be false. DF's narrative on 30fps would become common, just to reduce the 30fps

We had the narrative that PS5 Pro would be CPU limited, only 10% they said. And then the first game they test that they always call CPU-bound, Dragon's Dogma 2, had a significant performance boost. Granted not yet stable 60fps, but with base consoles hovering around 30 fps, it's a huge improvement.

They love coming up with stupid narratives, and if you push back, they label you the console warrior. But it has been highly entertaining, certainly because the longevity of those narratives have been reduced from years to now months.

Here are the people angry about the PS5 Pro and why they are angry

PS5 owners who can't afford itThey don't want to be 2nd class citizens
PS5 owners who can afford it but don't want to spend so much money, but willMaybe they can barely afford it, but they'll jump on the bandwagon of hate, because they thought it would come out for 500 or 600, I'm including in this category people who are angry it doesn't come with a disc drive even though you can buy it separately
Xbox gamers who don't have a mid gen refresh availableIt's a major blow for Xbox to get left out of the conversation
PC gamers who spent way more to get similar performanceThere are people who would have spent nearly 2000 dollars just a couple of years ago that are going to have similar performance to the ps5 pro, their personal rig might outperform the PS5 Pro but it came at more than double the cost
PC gamers who spent way more to get significantly less performanceThere are people who will have spent around 1000-1500 dollars that will get worse performance than the ps5 pro, they'll continue to push the narrative of PCMR even though PS5 Pro out performs their personal rig
Nintendo fans who like to take pot shotsThere are still Nintendo fans that are salty that their system isn't a core console and they largely blame Sony for this

At the end of the day you have a lot of people in gaming circles who are actively and openly against the PS5 Pro.

But if Sony sells between 10 and 20 million units of this, it's going to be a success...
