- RT is 30 FPS, Performance is 60 FPS. Performance is 60 FPS. RT feels choppy compared to Performance.
- All modes include HD textures, better vegetation, weather, shadows, backdrops.
- Both modes use FSR 2.1 and is a big upgrade over previous AA methods.
- DF did not get a chance to test Series S. But they were told it includes a 60 FPS performance and 30 FPS Quality mode.

- RT mode: RTGI and RTAO
- PC also gets RT Reflections and shadows (not on consoles)
- Enabling RT mode on consoles improves SSR quality on consoles (Perf mode uses legacy SSR )

- Perf mode: No drops beyond one off in opening areas, but Novigrad did show a few drops
- New assets for Foliage, 4K Textures, new weather states, self shadowing on Geralt etc. These are present in both modes, but Performance also benefits from them. It's not just last gen version running at 60 FPS.

- Plenty of QoL updates as well along with the visual enhancements.
- All QoL updates and new content will also be patched into PS4/XBO/Switch versions, minus the new camera system which is exclusive to PC and new gen.

The later part about textures is absurd. Even at 2x zoom the upgrades are tiny and they are selling it like it's the best upgrade in the history of gaming.

No complaints btw, it's free, but DF is becoming more and more a joke. Also, no proper side by side comparisons with comments nor resolution comparisons. Very interesting.

Considering their habit of trying to gloss over PS5 wins, this is probably another case where Series X is not doing as good of a job.

My goodness Alex is trying so hard here, the hyperbole is unreal.......What exactly is transformational here Alex? I even prefer the XBONEX look in certain scenes. AO is not making anything generational from what I'm seeing here. And the audacity to say "it's transformational if you know where to look", if it was that impressive there would be no need to point out a rock near the river Alex. There is no doubt that the tech has improved, but the hyperbole does not match the stark differences which he infers.....

All in all, this is just a preview that was kinda shown under the eye of CDPR bodyguards, the final release is not far away for real judgement. CDPR loves those fly journalist over thing, or show them behind closed doors, where they can direct the messaging. When devs left CDPR's closed door showing of Cyberpunk, I had never witnessed such hyperbole and fellating from the media ever, not even Evolve, Titanfall and Anthem could match the goo flowing from journalist's eyes and brains.....They said it was the best looking game ever, several generations ahead of anything seen before, both graphically and gameplaywise, just....pure malarkey....

The "if you know where to look" kind of gives the game away, doesn't it?

Well, DF has to replace the ones that have brown stains left from Callisto Protocol being better on PS5...
doubt unless they prepared them to make a mess again on their chairs :D DF statement ''looks identical'' doesn't strike as xbox advantage 😂

I am sure they will accept more chairs as "gifts" from friendly publishers who expect nothing in return in the future.

Lazy port imo.
They upgrades are welcome but it is not a game changer or something that bring the game to next-gen standards… in fact the most important parts of the upgrade is coming to PS4 too.

But it is free… it is a free patch for the game… it just misleading to call it “next-gen patch”.

I think I have the ps4 version and I wasn't able to play it because of the horrendous frame pacing... I'll he to dust it out and try again, so I can get all the girls!

Stay with me here. THEY. ARE. RELEASING. A. NATIVE. BUILD. FOR. PS5. AND. SERIES.

IT. IS. NOT. JUST. A. PATCH. FOR. LAST. GENERATION. SYSTEMS.

you are talking about auto trophy pop up? if yes, it wouldn't be anything out of ordinary, plenty of games doesn't do this. some do, some don't.
not all games support save transfer function, the same with trophies.

Given Series X has been underperforming with the past few game releases, they probably don't want to add more fuel to that fire. But, it betrays the point of their analysis in the first place: people want the facts on performance and want to know which version gives them the best performance for money, why run away from that?

Personally, I've been watching more of Open Surprise's video comparisons these days, they don't shy away from head-to-head comparisons on a selective basis. Their videos tend to be shorter, but they also just post the raw footage and provide the numbers; no need for commentary. I still check out DF for the retro content, though. Catching back up on their PS3 retro analysis videos ATM.

Considering their habit of trying to gloss over PS5 wins, this is probably another case where Series X is not doing as good of a job.

Couldn't be happening at a worst time, either. We're finally starting to shift away from cross-gen content going into 2023, and PS5 having technical wins on quite a lot of these games is just further making the last remnants of any "RDNA 1.5" (PS5) or "DA TOOLZ!!" (Series X) arguments fall into irrelevancy.

Some are still trying to hype up UE5 as the magical engine that will cleanly put Series X ahead of PS5 in technical performance, but forget that the first UE5 demonstration was on PS5, the engine can run on BOTH systems, and ultimately, the engine means little in comparison to the talent (and budget) of the teams using it.

I think anyone still holding on to foolish hope Series X is going to ever establish itself as a clearly technically superior console, is in for a VERY rough generation.
