Does no one find it concerning that PS5 sales are struggling to keep up with the nearly 8 year old Nintendo Switch?

Will the Switch outsell the PS5 this holiday season?

Here's your totally legit japanese sales LOL

Let's see the date of the tweet and the claim of no PS5 software managed to chart due to scalping. Oke let's fact check and see the top 10 in Famitsu week prior.

Acting like the PS5 hasn't been scalped due to shortages for over 2 years worldwide, meaning somehow 6 million PS5's sold in Japan are not being used, taking away it sold the most in a year in 2023 since PS2.

What the fuck are you doing my dude? the date is february 10th 2023 TWO THREE and you posted the chart from 2024

A sale is a sale.

I imported an N64, PS2 and Gamecube from Japan.

Still counts as a Japanese sale only.
No it doesn't, if people are buying console just to resell them and then software is nowhere to be seen in the charts is clearly a problem.

Oh it get's even worse indeed now that you mention it, my bad! You replied with an Feb 2023 tweet as a response on them selling 2,5 million consoles over 2023. That's even more moronic.

But since I was talking about charts and the claim of them not charting let's check again.

And? The import buyer will buy software elsewhere. It all levels out.

It has been happening since consoles existed.

People have imported consoles for numerous reasons.

Why is it a problem now?

Sony Playstation?

this is the chart he's talking about
and as you can see no PlayStation in the top 10, and yes clearly I got you

The problem is that you can't say that the japanese market is healthy for PlayStation because clearly it's not

Replying on the total sales of 2023 with an early 2023 tweet. On top of that making it sound no games chart when I provided it did a week earlier. The irony is I looked up the wrong year, a week prior and it still charted a year earlier. You definitely got me.

PS has ignored the Japanese market for like 10-15+ years. Since the PS2 early PS3 is the last era that they cared about Japan. Ever since the last years of PS3 is when they shifted to US/EU likely because they thought Nintendo will always remain the gaming console w inferior power for the rest of there existence

I miss Jak & Daxter, Sly, Ape Escape, Gravity Rush, Wild Arms, Potopon, annualized Ratchet & Clank even bigger notable games that had massive potential like inFAMOUS & Motorstorm. Not sure who thought ignoring these type of games even if they barely break even they need to continue double downing to grow the franchise & specific franchise. Unless the franchise sell wise was going a downward trend & being reviewed poorly it’s important to ensure your platform have flavor from the first party lineup.

You do realise importing consoles didn’t start in 2020 with the PS5?

Honestly the length you guys go to with your agendas.

Ridiculous.

No no that doesn’t count.

It only applies to Playstation.

This nonsense reminds me of when people were claiming that Horizon Zero Dawn didn’t sell well cause it was bundled with the PS4.

Doesn’t apply to Nintendo when they bundle their games with their consoles.

It’s the same crowd.

Yes and? Charts look good for Switch, can't say the same for PlayStation

You are comparing an apple to an orange.

The home console market is pretty much dead in Japan for the past 2 decades.

Mobile and handhelds rule. Reason why the glorified handheld Switch is doing great.

It is not only Playstation. Even Nintendo home consoles didn’t do great this century.

Console sales in Japan. The PS5 is doing as expected.

I don’t think PS5 will sell anywhere near Switch. I think the long tail of PS5 is where you will see the PC port diminishment. Idk if they’ll sell over PS4. They should sell over PS4 after the success of PS4 they should’ve double down on exclusives but they haven’t & over 50% PS players still on PS4 going towards its 5th year is not good. They’ll likely be saved by GTA6 but if there wasn’t GTA6 it wouldn’t be looking good imo
Oh, I just meant for the next quarter or so....not overall.

Shouldn't be too hard to spot, it's right there at the top of the list.
Hmmm akshually the Nintendo Switch is a handheld
No it's not, it's both.
So you trying Switch success is due to Japanese having the option to play it docked?

It clear the reason Nintendo make Switch hybrid… console market was dead to them so they get what it was left and combined with the handheld market that was still great in Japan.

It is NOT a Home console and no Japanese is buying it for that either.

That is why it exists cause Nintendo know Home consoles are dead in Japan.

Are you that dense?
