depends, if the PS6 demand is insanely high they'll focus all the efforts in suppling PS6 to the market, but IMO it's a mistake, the reason PS2 was able to reach 160M units was because it continued to be sold and discounted even years after the generation ended, PS4 could've sold more than 140M units if in 2020 they discounted the price to $199 and continued to sell it everywhere, would actually be the perfect competitor to the Series S since the cross-gen period was like 3+ yearsThey will but it may take another 3 - 4 years. I don't see them phasing out the PS5 as quickly whenever PS6 comes out.
