Considering this is Capcom, I assume that it'll be using the same tech as the the MH/SF6 one, you will be able to make characters of all shapes and sizes.

I like the pawn system, but I'm still baffled there isn't a true co-op mode as an option for DD2.

How about you let me play with friend(s) instead?

I wonder what PC performance will be. Tossing up whether I should get this on PC or PS5.

I'd go PC.

I'd also say PC unless Capcom fumbles this particular port, can always wait a bit before buying and get the usual benchmarks guys to put their videos on youtube and see what's up and how it relates to your PC configuration.

All I'll say is that if you're going the mage route the vfx we saw on larger scale magic are going to tank the FPS on consoles 100%.

"Travel is boring? … It's only an issue because your game is boring." - Hideaki Itsuno

  • You have your standard on-foot travel. This is how you explore the world, and is the bread-and-butter of traversal in general.
  • Oxcarts are a mid-tier of travel introduced in DD2. It's faster travel along linear routes, and is cheap to use. However, you're vulnerable to dynamic encounters, such as Griffins predisposition to preying on Ox's; in a worst case scenario, the cart could be destroyed leaving you to stroll to your destination.
  • Ferrystones & Portcrystals return in DD2, as expected, and are the most expensive mode of travel but carry no fluff. A to B, instantly, no risks; just costs.]
“We've put a lot of work into designing a game where you can stumble across someone and something will happen, so while it's fine if it does have fast travel, we decided to design the kind of map where players will make the decision for themselves to travel by bike or on foot in order to enjoy the journey.”

I will agree here.
You only need fast travel when you design have flaws.

You can take for example Shadow of Colossus... no fast travel and it was awesome.
Or the best examples that I can find... the Metrovanias.
Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night has no fast travel at all.

IMO fast travels are put in games to hide design flaws.

Seriously such a breath of fresh air. The fast travel system in the original game was great and a more dynamic system of travel is highly preferrable to the standard methods used by most games.
