What the hell is a daughter board lolIt's more complicated than that as hall effect sticks require extra circuitry to translate the signals which means you need to solder a daughter board into the dualsense, more trouble than worth imo

You dont need to solder if it's just a cleaning, 99% of the time it's not a bad module it's some dirt or grime that got into the ring sensor
shouldnt it still be under warranty then ? try contacting Sony, if it does, replacing it will only cost a few dollars for shippingI got it around November last year on contract from EE

How is controller surgery less intimidating than calling in a warranty lolI don't know anything about warranty it's too adult for me
Hate phone conversations my anxiety goes through the roofHow is controller surgery less intimidating than calling in a warranty lol
you might be able to do it through the chat feature on ps websiteHate phone conversations my anxiety goes through the roof
Funny thing is that the drift seems to have gone away not long after I posted the thread I'm sure it will be back tomorrow though when I'm playing ff16 & Clive will be turning left all the time@Would_you_kindly
I don't like phone conversations, too (unless it's with family or friends).
Anyways, if you want to "gamble" check local, classified ADS (online) and see if there is anyone that can do repairs in your city. Back in the day, I didn't want to chance fixing it on my own, so I found a guy who fixed my PHAT PS3 (I know it's not a controller, but same difference).

Definitely not dirty I wash my hands like 20 times a day & I rest it alreadyMost likely dirty then.
Maybe reset the controller too.

you need a screwdriver that works on cellphone repair. something like thisCan anyone provide me with a link to the screwdriver I need none of mine fit
I didn't have a screw driver that fit of so I just took off the black plastic but & stuck something thin in the gap & moved it around , drift has gone for now lolHave you managed to solve the issue? I have had stick drift on my Dualsense that came with the console, was under warranty so sent it to be repaired. Spilled water on that same controller, took it apart cleaned and dried what I could and ordered a Dualsense "foil" (whatever those transparent things that go in it on all the buttons are called) and fixed it. I would suggest checking out Tronicsfix on YT, hopefully it is just some dirt or bits that is stuck in the analog sticks, otherwise you would have to take off the old and soder on new ones, which I never did.
