Casual reminder that everything Dusk Golem "leaked" about RE8 was completely fake until other leakers provided more leaks, and then he changed his story.
As per Dusk Golem, RE8 was actually "Resident Evil Revelations 3", then got rebranded to "Resident Evil Outrage".
It starred an antagonist called "Alan R", which obviously doesn't exist, until Lady Dimitrescu was revealed in some artwork, which he said was Alex Wesker. Then her name was revealed, and he said she was meant to be Wesker in prior iterations, until the art director spoke on it and did not mention that she was ever anything else other than Lady D.
He also peddled that some guy from Resistance was going to be in the game, then they showed Heisenberg in the trailer and he said that was it, then they said his name and he completely abandoned the idea.
He then backtracked on everything and said that all of the things he had leaked about it were actually from ANOTHER game entirely, said that it was going to be released within a year of RE8 (this was after 8 was already fully public) and also said all of this
was going to be a Switch timed exclusive. Which obviously never happened.
Also, I still remember when he was so adamant that the girl from Resident Evil 7 was called "Camile" and that RE3Remake was so large it needed a subway system fast-travel just to get around (lmfao).
Every guess this guy does is stuff he can backpeddle on, which is why since his humiliatingly stupid tirade about how RE8 was actually completely non-functional on a PS5 he just stopped speaking in specifics because people immediately screenshot what he says. This is also why he no longer posts this nonsense on Twitter where stuff is easy to find, so he pretended that he's "retired" for leaking, and instead does it in private Discord servers where his older fake stuff is harder to find and where everyone is already conditioned to believe what he says. Everything else he "correctly" guesses is either stuff that just happens to turn out real -- and it's always braindead stuff like, "The next RE remake is RE4" -- or it's stuff that Jesse from Biohazard Declassified leaks first, and he just repeats it.
So, I'd be extremely hesitant about taking these things at face value. It is not that big of a hunch to say Capcom's largest franchise will have a bigger budget than the last one, and that development is going "super smoothly" or what Capcom thinks about it internally. The first is obvious, the second is unverifiable anyway.
Please let's learn to identify cold reading for what it is.
