Europe’s top-selling games for first half of 2023, Hogwart’s Legacy tops the list

76.1 million console and PC games were sold across Europe during the first half of the year, which is marginally up over the same period in 2022.

The UK was the biggest European market for game sales, representing 15.3 million games sold, a rise of 5.5% over the same period in 2022. This is followed by Germany with 14 million games sold (down 11%) and then France with 11.1 million sales (up 8%). Spain delivered 5.4 million game sales (up 6.8%), while Italy is just behind with 4.9 million (up 2.7%).

It also puts the idea that Activision is only COD to rest, specially the strength of the WRPG audience.

Solid list. If we assume Fornite and Warzone are #1/2 respectively it's still a nice list with variety.

It should be nice to know who is the real first place... Hogwarts or Zelda... Zelda data doesn't have digital accounted that screw the chart.
Zelda launched in May... Horgwarts in Feb.

If they don't release sales, we can only guess. The Switch handheld will have a lower digital share than consoles.

That, for the most part, is a great list of games. Europeans have refined taste confirmed.

Zelda TOTK's physical and digital split during launch was 50/50 in Japan, which is around 1.1 million units of digital sales in 3 days. It's wild to assume that the EU digital split will be lower than Japan for TOTK.

Based on Nintendo's financial report, digital sales made up 56.1% of total packaged software sales in FY2022. Some people in 2023 are still believing that Nintendo games have very low digital sales lol.

The leaks + youtubers claiming the game is no good because Joel dies. Abby us trans almost the misinformation. Now years later people are finding out it wasn't true and us a awesome video game hence the legs
