Not really shocking. For the entire month of October ps5 sales have been dropping in Japan. They aren’t shipping the old model anymore. A lot of stores are complete out of ps5s. The new “slim” is launching soon and Sony only wants that on the market. It’s the calm before the holiday storm.

Nov 10 launch date sales should be interesting. Nov 15 is Portal release date in Japan also and that should be interesting as well.

I think they timed it right actually. As the Spiderman Push will kick up again closer to Thanksgiving/ black Friday and I expect some price promotions December but we'll see.

The drop off in Spiderman 2 sales in Japan isn't cute though.

Spiderman is a huge brand in Japan. Embarassing what they're selling both hardware and software wise for the game. I haven't seen any japanese youtubers I follow play it.

Dying waiting for the portal. Considering Japanese love for mobile gaming devices the portal should give PlayStation gaming in Japan a nice boost.
