I actually think they did the opposite. They've done well hardware wise in Japan. The price is too high and it's holding them back but I think they have chosen profit margins going forward.


By the way did we ever get any figures at all about Portal sales in Japan?

Yes, but not overemphasizing a smaller market means their extreme success globally is in danger, or something like that.

I don’t get it either, but I guess the Chicken Little set need SOMETHING to disproportionally freak out over, since it seems they can’t just be happy that PlayStation is killing it and has been for years.

Suprised to see Spiderman 2 at number 5. Very good numbers. Crazy to still see Ps4 pulling in a thousand each week. Lets see if it can keep this going for the rest of this year. Xbox series s/x combined barely managing to sell more than Ps4.

yeah, i don't get it either.. Playstation should support all these exclusives, even if they didn't payed for it.. show some love..
after Jimbo came, all love was gone for these non payed exclusives, pity really.
i hope, new CEO will embrace the power of 2nd and 3rd party on PS.

Japan deprioritize PS. Nintendo did fir video games in japan what apple did for phones all over the globe. Portable with all features is the way to go in japan.
The PS6 needs to have an exclusive model for japan that is just like the PSP controller and a model thats traditional and hooks up to tv for the rest of the world.

Quite different actually.

Christmas+NY they just decrease the price of disk version to around 60000, they also decrease the price of PS Plus code to well 40% off, the biggest one since Jimbo price hike.

A good price to play to P2P MMOs game plus some singleplayer discs game now that PC game price gone up.

Still I think the new Nintendo handheld strong enough could be a threat to that. We will see.
