Fandom bought Gamespot a few months ago and now the site is seeing mass layoffs.

This follows USGamer closing down, G4 being discontinued and Kotaku cuts....

More gaming media cuts to follow? Who could be next? and why are the gaming media being hit so hard at this time?

Fandom has ruined the majority of game wikis with their incessant ads, so it doesn't surprise me that they're well on their way to ruining the new slew of sites they recently purchased. I'm a little shocked to not see GameFAQs included in the layoffs, though. Maybe they don't have as much staff since its content is user-generated, but I'm just waiting for the day they ruin that site too.

Where it’s at.
Nothing of value was lost here, Giant Bomb was always shit, USGamer was just Jeremy Parish’s pseudo intellectual masturbation safe space and Kotaku isn’t something anyone needs to be reminded of.
