The positive reception is undeserved, Metaphor proves that JRPGs receive too much gentle treatment. If Ubisoft had made Metaphor, it would be widely hated for its flaws.
It is though.Atelier Sophie
Kingdom Hearts II is a better game than Pokemon Platinum
This is actually an interesting point I'd like to dive into. I feel like we've seen a lot of games breaking 90+ on Metacritic in the past few years.
Do you feel those reviews are an accurate representation of game quality, or are reviewers leaning more generous with their scores on aggregate?
They are both JRPGs in the running for GOTY, one has had its flaws picked apart while the other gets the gentle soft touch treatmentwhat do these games have to do with each other
Hey guys Nier Replicant is a significantly better game than Atelier Sophie
Kingdom Hearts II is a better game than Pokemon Platinum
Out of curiosity, do you think both games will be among the six slots for TGAs this year, or will they only reserve one slot for a JRPG?They are both JRPGs in the running for GOTY, one has had its flaws picked apart while the other gets the gentle soft touch treatment
Any thoughts on the two from a gameplay perspective? Both are excellent. I’d rate them about the same but FFVII has a giant leg up when it comes to graphics. I think I prefer the story in Metaphor more.
FFVIIR hard mode is honestly such a incredible gameplay system, feels like what you imagined the OG to look expect in real time. Metaphor also has wonderful gameplay, big SMT fan so I love the puzzle like nature of bosses and deadly buff/debuff systems. I wouldn't pick one over the other, both of these games are honestly peak JRPG experiences. Saying that as a long time fan of the genre.Any thoughts on the two from a gameplay perspective?
This gets me super hyped to play both!FFVIIR hard mode is honestly such a incredible gameplay system, feels like what you imagined the OG to look expect in real time. They are both immensely fun JRPGs any fan of the genre NEEDS to play. Two GOATs of the genre dropped in a single year, its been insane. This gets me super hyped to play both!
metaphor has none of this (40 hours in)The prologue for atlus games is tooooooooo loooooooooooong and the opening is loaded with cutscenes, filler dialogue and loading screens every few mins
Otherwise the story does have some promise with exploring serious themes which gets mired by weeb shit like dating teachers as students and other creepy stuff
Are you talking about Persona?gets mired by weeb shit like dating teachers as students and other creepy stuff
