Yeah, it generated 40 billion in game sales last year while all three console platforms in total generated 53 billion including their consoles, accessories, peripherals and games etc.

Yep, it's dead alright.

Seems France and PS are doing their job. Nice to see Gran Turismo having good legs there.

PC is dying,
PC is dying 😭

The facts say this is not true.

Covid bump was far more pronounced for PC, due to companies covering home PC costs..

Also observe that they removed browser games from PC games in general and browser games were down a huge (nearly) 17%.

Also NOTE: Newegg (who made the pie chart) sell PC's, PC parts etc.... not consoles. So it's in their interest to show PC growth.

Regarding browser games (I did work making games there in the late 2000s and early 2010s, in addition to mobile games) since the early 2010s they slowly kept migrating to mobile. I assume eventually they'll dissapear.

Specially when Apple, Google, MS, Epic etc. finally standarize a crossplatform+crossbuy+crossplay PC & mobile store and games (including Android emulation in case of at least Google), I assume browser games will dissapear. At least the ones that make money, itch.io will remain there mostly for free browser games and paid download games.

Regarding the covid bump, as happened in the 2008 crisis bump, the ones who got more benefited were the digital games, particularly mobile. In the covid case mobile didn't grow even more because got fucked with the change in advertising "privacy" policies.

In 2023 they have been still recoveing from the covid spike, the gaming market in general kept flat vs 2022. I assume that due to some adjustments made late 2023 and early 2024, the market will continue growing a bit in 2024 but specially in 2025. If things don't get fucked with the WWIII or the upcoming dollar collapse once the related finantial bubble burst, more or less at the same time the BRICS will stop using dollars for their commerce (they are working on their own alternative currency for worldwide operations).

I want console sales...very interested to know if PS5 sold at least 1.3 million 😏

GT7 really gonna end this generation close to 20 million if sales stays consistent

Hmmmm let's look at the planet shall we.

PlayStation 5 same as the PlayStation 4 LTD
Xbox Series selling worse than Xbox One
Steam setting new growth metrics monthly

Bask in that growth lol
Yeah boast about the steam growth numbers from 3rd world countries. They install steam and play dota 2 and counter strike. Name one game which has higher sales on steam than consoles but keep plugging for steam numbers(y)

You're gonna have to pick one of those bottom two graphs, my friend. Consoles can't be at 53b and at 30b.

France shows PC declining over the last 5 years btw.

Yep. If you cut away the shrinking parts of the market turns out it's growing!

these guys act like Steam "growth" is equivalent to console growth lmao

making a free account with a throwaway email = buying a $500 system 😂🤣

Those are just Russians that got vac banned 😂
"New records every day"
😂

Meanwhile, PlayStation is also reaching new MAU peaks, and you can guarantee they spend more per user than Steam's budget bandits.

If that's the total salsa then FF 16 did pretty okay all things considered

Ops hate boner for PC is sad.

We have a thread on this forum, discussing how console sales are down 20% YoY, yet PC is dying. It's dying so bad that Microsoft and Sony are scrambling to put their games on there.

Looking at the software sales.

Pc sales seems quite top heavy.

Consoles game sales on other hand seem more higher across the board, much healthier.

FIFA sold 157,564 on just Xbox the weakest brand in France, and that was in the 19 position in the per console chart.

That would have appeared number 3 in the pc chart. Only diablo and hogwarts beat it.
