If a game is made in Europe, that doesn't mean the cost of localizing it and marketing it in different languages doesn't contribute to the cost... Horizon is made in the Netherlands, but you're going to pay a premium for Dutch localization. It's a smaller market.

But it's cheaper to produce there, isn't it? Why doesn't it cost less there? Funny that the most loyal userbase (the European one) suddenly has to pay a premium. Wondering why UK has to pay that premium too. Maybe British English is difficult to localize....

You have your head in the sand and you definitely look childish.

Definitely prefer to have my head in the sand than having it sticking in an ass like shills of your calibre tend to do.

Wild that presumably a grown ass man doesn't know how the world works...

Really wild. But you, kid, are excused.

Take Sony out of it and ask yourself if software that isn't from sony is more expensive in Europe than the US.

Like I said, the UK also has regulatory and legal fees that cause items to be more expensive.

Silent Hill 2 just released on PS5 and PC.

How much does it cost on PS5 in US, UK, and Germany?

69 dollars, 59 GBP, 69 euro

How much does it cost on Steam?

69 dollars, 59 gbp, 69 euro

So is this Sony?

So is this Sony?

Silent Hill 2: 70 €/$
Metaphor: 70 €/$

Astro Bot: 60$ but 70€
LEGO Horizon same as Astro.

So yes, seems like it's Sony.

If you want to make a point, at least try to use examples like CoD or MH Wilds, where there is the same situation like with Sony games.

I obviously know it's not just Sony, but Sony was the first platform holder to introduce the higher price point and as you yourself have shown, not all the publishers choose to get a premium from EU/UK users, yet Sony does.

Silent Hill 2 is available in 14 languages via subtitles/text only 2 via dubbing I believe.

Metaphor: 2 languages via dubbing, 11 languages via text

Astro Bot available in 30 languages via text

Lego Horizon available in 11 dubbed languages, 25 via subtitles/text

As I mentioned, some games are more expensive because of localization and other factors.

So adding a few text localization more (Astro Bot) is more expensive than adding ~100 of hours of additional content (Metaphor).

Ok.

The "Europeans need to pay more for distribution and localization" makes absolutely no sense when you know we've had $=€ in both videogame hardware and software for 25 years since the Euro's inception.
If anything, hardware distribution costs in the E.U. are much lower because we have an actually existing and adequately capable railway infrastructure, something the U.S. lacks. Our roads and motorways are also much denser than the U.S.'s.

Claiming "higher distribution costs" in the UK and EU can only be rooted in sheer ignorance or dishonesty.

You really need to be grasping at straws to defend what is obviously the corporate decision to trade the negative reaction from a population with lower representation on the internet for higher localized margins. That's all there is to it.
And Sony is obviously in their right to do it, but for fuck's sake don't try to make us eat that slop as if it was good. That's just offensive.
