Switch 2.

I'm calling it right now; R* and T2 want a Switch 2 version of GTA6, and that's probably what they'd push for 2026. There's also the outside chance Microsoft does release a new Xbox console/PC hybrid system, and they'd like to have the "best performing" version of GTA6 on the market for some bit before a PC version is released (we all know PS5 Pro will have the best performing version at least for 2025 and part of 2026).

Plus with a later 2027 PC version, T2 can get more people to double or even triple-dip. 2027 might also be when the new GTA Online is ready, and they'd want to time the PC release with GTA Online up and running Day 1 to add more value for PC buyers, coinciding with a PS/Xbox/Nintendo update for GTA Online in their versions of GTA6 as well.

If there is one game that can get away with a 2-year stagger between console & PC and get virtually no pushback or negative impact from it, it's GTA. Everyone knows this, hence why a 2027 PC port is very believable.

Alot of PS success relies on this. If it comes to Switch 2, its gonna change PS5’s quick easy sailing to 100m consoles sold.

But not sure if Switch 2 can handle it though. And they never put GTA5 out it on Switch. But it would be a huge move and not good for PS

May I ask, why are your preordering a digital game? Code doesn't run out you know.

Will be at least 12 months from the console version so I can definitely see this being true. We know from experience that Rockstar will be in no rush, and they will encourage as much double-dipping as possible.

Nah, will be released late as announced 2025. If it gets some late delay (possible), would be released early 2026 instead. With PC version released some months later.

The PC version??
I think console version will be released late 2025. GTA6 obviously is a big deal for Take 2 investors, so they better release the game in the announced "2025" timeframe.

Regarding the PC version, I think will be released around 6-9 months after that.

In case of delaying the console version beyond 2025 (I think won't happen, but it is always possible), add 3-6 extra months to both console and PC versions.

I think six months later for the PC version is very unlikely. Just a hunch I have but I believe the suggestions that it will be 12 - 18 months later.

Who knows.

Back in the time when the previous GTA games were released, it required more time because architectures of the consoles were more very different of the PCs available back then. I assumed a shorter difference because nowadays they are pretty much the same, so ports are way easier and require way less job and time.

I don't know, maybe they want to strategically slit the console and PC releases on different fiscal years to have a great bump in their numbers shown to invetors in two different fiscal years, or something like that.
