Update 5/2

New Warbond

Valiant warriors of justice… a deep freeze is coming to the galaxy. Super Earth leaders are deploying the next Helldivers 2 Premium Warbond on May 9 to all fearless frontline forces, codename Polar Patriots.*

Overflowing with all-new gear, this package of petrified pandemonium features weapons, armor, capes, and emotes. So stay frosty in the roaring heat of battle as you ice the malignant enemies of freedom.

It’s time to thrill and chill, Helldivers!

Firepower

AR-61 Tenderizer
A real tentacle-tearer. This high calibre assault rifle has awesome stopping power but limited magazine size, so make each shot count. Unpatriotic “banter” shots are not advisable.

SMG-72 Pummeler
A slower rate of fire than your other SMGs but these concussive rounds will leave your enemies dazed, confused, and still very ugly. Good things come to Helldivers who wait.

PLAS-101 Purifier
Set the trap. Hold the trigger. Let them charge at you. Smile. They’re getting closer. Smile again. Closer. Smile. Closer. Smile. Closer… and release the trigger. S.P.L.A.T. The longer you can hold your nerve, and the trigger, the bigger the damage.

Secondary weapons / Utility Booster

G-13 Incendiary Impact
Don’t waste time reading the instructions, lob it at the enemy and run. This thing detonates on impact and ignites the area in white phosphorus, so make sure you – and your allies – are not standing around having a chat.

P-113 Verdict
The guys in R&D love this one. Gas-operated, semi-automatic, and chambers the largest centrefire cartridge of any lunpistol of its kind. “Rapid Deliberation”, they call it. Quick-draw to look cool in front of your squad.

Motivational Shocks
Literally shocks Helldivers back into action after being hit and slowed by sneaky, unjust attacks like the revolting bug acid vomit. Won’t help you much with area effects like EMS strikes, though.

Armour

CW-36 Winter Warrior
Blend into snowy environments with perfect camouflage. The enemy will never see you coming, until it’s far too late. Ah the sweet smell of stealth. Passive boost – Serve-assisted.

CW-22 Kodiak
Thoroughly pressure-tested by patriotic volunteers as part of the Test Subjects for Super Earth Citizen Advancement Programme. Their sacrifice shall not be forgotten. Passive boost – Fortified.

CW-4 Arctic Ranger
Features a nifty utility belt boasting handy pockets that can be filled with any number of things – pocket knives, mementoes, interesting rocks, Terminid tentacles, bits of bots, etc.

Capes

Dissident’s Nightmare
Scientifically proven to be “terrifying” to dissent-afflicted citizens during extensive testing in Patriotic Rehabilitation Centres.

Pinions of Everlasting Glory
All but ensures ascension to the immortal ranks of those enshrined in the Super Earth Digital Archive of Valorous Acts.

Order of the Venerated Ballot
Adorned with the insignia of the Order of the Venerated Ballot – a Ministry-sanctioned Patriot’s Club for citizens pledging to preserve the sanctity of voting.

And, of course, the new emotes! We know our brave, heroic soldiers like to bust out a new move right in the middle of ferocious battles – no matter the deadly risk – so rock out with Mime Instrumentation, request incoming patriotic chat with Call the Helldivers, and search for new voters with Distribute Ballots.

Polar Patriots is rolling out to your Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel on May 9.

Keep your cool, drop the temperature and drop some ice cold justice out there, Helldivers! See you planetside.

Greetings, fearless heroes of galactic democracy! Steel yourself for the next big push against the disgraceful enemies of freedom with our new Warbond – Cutting Edge*.

Play Video
Helldivers 2 new Warbond launches March 14, first look at new weapons, armor, and more

Packed with high-voltage vibes, Cutting Edge gives you the chance to enhance your loadout of liberty with ultra-futuristic armour, guns that spit lightning, super stylish capes and epic emotes.

Super Earth R&D experiments

Helldivers… we need your help. The brainiacs in Super Earth Research & Development have some cool experimental armor ready to be field-tested. This is where you come in, you’re just the right people for the job.

The EX Series Prototypes

EX-03 Prototype 3

Includes a rubber underlayer for insulation. Handy, really, as this prototype’s wires operate at a shocking 400,000 volts.

EX-16 Prototype 16

Warning: Electric arc generates a strong magnetic field. Avoid use while near stapled paperwork.

EX-00 Prototype X

The end result of several billion Super Credits and 12 years of research into creating “the Soldier of Tomorrow”. Show us it was worth it.

Expanded arsenal

R&D didn’t stop at armor, though. They’re also rolling out a new series of alien-splitting weapons with electrifying perks!

LAS-16 Sickle

A sweet laser rifle that fires in short bursts. And it doesn’t need reloading. Just watch for overheating or shove a new heatsink in there.

SG-8P Punisher Plasma

Exploding plasma rounds sound deadly… because they are, to aliens and allies! This modified Punisher shotgun is as fun as it is fearsome.

ARC-12 Blitzer

Project an arc of close-range lightning, or charge it up to fire off powerful bolts. Good for taking out multiple targets and giving you more time to pick a celebration emote.

And you can unlock a new stun grenade, the G-23 Stun, and the LAS-7 Dagger pistol.

I know what I’ll be doing… equipping the LAS-7 Dagger AND LAS-16 Sickle at the same time, turning my Helldiver into a real live wire and melting the foes of Managed Democracy on sight.

But we’ve got to do this with a touch of style, right? Get creative and accessorize your armor sets with three new capes, featuring matching colors and designs.

My favorite is the Botslayer: a light tan cape that will no doubt look great soaked in Automaton oil.

There are even matching player cards for each cape, as well as three new emotes.

Cutting Edge is rolling out to your Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel March 14, soldiers.

Get ready to spill some oil in style. Prepare for deployment.

I played a few rounds last night and all guns feel weaker and enemies are more ruthless lol. It was fun but we need the new guns to step up to the challenge.

The basic helmet is still by far the coolest, I wish we could paint it.

I also find it cool to just show up with simple armor and items and still perform much better than guys that are many ranks above, look like futuristic robots but still kill their own team all the time and are ineffective.

I didn't play this week. Are people liking the new changes?

I thought it was too hard already 😕
I always play on Helldiver mode and in terms of difficulty I felt it was perfect but now it feels much harder and arduous (to me anyway) but still doable.

Looking good.

Seeing the highlighted stuff, I assume it's just going to be 3 pages long like the current premium warbond.

As expected, gets released Thursday 14th. Probably the mechs too, since they activated now the planet where they are made and arre asking players to go there.

I have over 1000 super credits saved for it. I assume they'll relesae a new premium Warbond every month.

I assume if they'll release more free warbonds in the future too. I played many dozens of hours, more than the ones of the average player in both PC and PS (level 22 and 14, my PS5 gpu seems to have hardware issues and causing the crashes because it extended to other games and SF6 doesn't crash but now has visual artifacts) and I still have like over half of the stuff to be unlocked. I may need a month or two more to unlock everything.

I assume the average player may need like year to unlock everything in the current warbonds. So maybe they release a single free warbond per year/"season", maybe as celebrations of the anniversary of the game.

The game already is very generous with the economy and unlocks, so I assume they won't add free warbonds at least not frequently. Even if the premium ones can be unlocked without paying real money, but using Super Credits found in-game.

Not much honestly changed. They just need to give players a better way to take down armored enemies.
Pretty likely their goal for mech and other armored vehicles they have in the works is to make them specially useful for highest difficulty levels, against several armored enemies.

Also, remember that you can drop stuff like a turret on the face of these bastards. I killed many of them doing that, even a bile titan while being low level and having crappy equipment.

Just play on normal.
I went to read the comments and there's a lot of negativity. They should reverse the changes and just add new weapons + an extra difficulty setting.

They don't want to lose the goodwill so early, before the first season pass even comes out 😬

People are gonna complain no matter what, fuck em. This is every successful online games trajectory.

Boo fucking hoo you can’t use a railgun to solo bile titans, go play on normal then

But if they introduce more powerful weapons, people will move to something else and there's still some progression to unlock better weapons.

The game is all about having fun so I would leave everything as is but with more toys.

Diablo 4 died a month after release because of this and never recovered.
